East Bay Mortgage Market Update for February 1st 2011 Economic News: Monday's Personal Income & Outlays report was positive indicating that the consumer is active. Consumer Spending was up 4.1% year over year. Income boasted a 3.8% increase from year ago levels. Construction Spending was well under consensus with declines in almost all categories (office, multi family and public/private).  The ISM Manufacturing Index results indicated a healthy manufacturing sector with a reading of 60.8, a seven year high. Mortgage Markets: The 10 Year Note is currently trading at 3.43% and Mortgage Backed Securities after falling earlier are finding their footing.  Current conditions continue to be range bound. Today We Rescued A Cane Corso Whose Daddy Was Deployed To Afghanistan First, I'd like to thank Cris Tarozzi (and Denise!) of the White Kitty Foundation in Walnut Creek, CA for their hard work and efforts in getting a Cane Corso named Max out of a high-kill shelter, Contra Costa County Animal Services in Martinez, CA. Max was surrendered to the shelter on January 15, 2011 when his active duty military owner from San Ramon, CA got deployed to Afghanistan. The employees at Contra Costa Animal Services were not equipped to handle the adoption of such a large breed of dog (140 lbs.) so Max was scheduled to be put down...until Cris and Denise went to work trying to save his life and contacted Bob after finding our website California Cane Corso. Question:  I want to know if I can short sale my home and have my friend (parents, boss, ex ) buy it at the lower price so I can get a new loan for a lot less and then live there and/or buy it back later?  Answer: Let's address the elephant in the room.  Does this question come up?  Yes people talk about and ask about this situation all the time.  It is difficult for some to swallow when their neighbor buys a home right next door at half or a third of the price they paid. Even if they can afford the payments, some people feel they should have the option to turn the current economic situation around to their advantage.
