What is staging?  What is decorating?  Some people are confused so I will try to clear the air for you...First of all when I stage a home I don't decorate a home.  Staging and decorating are two completely different functions.  STAGING:  The market is my focal point.  When I stage a home my one and only goal is to create a home that has a "wow, I love it" look, appealing to the widest range of potential buyers so that your home sells quicker and for more profit.  This is called "dynamic market appeal".  My commitment to you is to help you sell your home.  I will prepare the home to show at its very best so that your agent can do his job and market your home at its very best.  Staging is all about the market and prospective buyers.....DECORATING:  My clients are my focal point.  When I d...

"It sold"....."It sold"....."It sold".....In any market these are beautiful words, but in todays market they mean so much more.  With the way the economy and the world is today and with everyone blaming everyone, it is no wonder that we get so much more excited with these two words.  Everyone has worked harder to hear them.  Agents, homeowners, buyers, stagers, lenders, escrow officers, title co., and everyone else in-between.  Good for you, good for them, good for us.  We all need a pat on the back.  So this is my "Hip, hip, hurray" for all of you in the field.  Keep up the great work.Remember to always "dress your home for success".Naomiwww.roombyroominteriors.net530-310-3496

You know about it, they know about it, yet everyone forgets about it.  It always seems to end up last on the list.  But a buyer sees it first....."go figure".  I'm talking about curb appeal.  Lets focus on curb appeal first for a change.  Its inexpensive and rarely hard.  A clean, trimmed, green yard will tell that buyer this house was cared for inside and out.  First go across the street with a notepad and look at your front door.  What does it say to you.  Look at the slanted mail box, faded house numbers, peeling paint, overgrown bushes and weeds and brownish lawn.  (Note:  If you take a picture you will often see what needs to be addressed in a more pronounced way.  Its a great tool, use it.)  Now go back and get the kids and hand them gloves & a shovel or rake, turn on some music a...

Light is a wonderful thing.  It adds cheer, excitment, beauty, and comfort.  You can also add drama and moods with accent lighting.  Be creative behind sofas, fireplaces, in plants.  So use it.  Table lamps, floor lamps, spot lights, and don't forget natural light.  Keep all the blinds open (unless a window looks out into a garbage dump).  Keep the lights on even in the daylight hours.  Great for picture taking. www.roombyroominteriors.net530-310-3496

Tips for the entry.  One of the most important places.  Why? because it is the first, 1st, Ono, number one, impression of the house.  If it doesn't reek of a welcoming and inviting atmosphere then you might as well take down the for sale sign because some people won't even get out of the car.  Go across the street and get a good look.  Have a friend look with you.  Then go and create an inviting entry.  One that says welcome and I am glade you and your family came to my home.  Maybe you need to mow the lawn and trim shrubs.  Nothing gives a cheerer welcome like flowering potted porch plants and a newly painted rich colored entry door.  Very simple will add dramatic appeal.Try it and see the results."Dress Your Home For Success"www.roombyroominteriors.net530-310-3496

Go room by room and purge!  Listen to all the professionals.  We know what we are talking about.  Why, you ask?  Lets take it from the top.  1. Your personal pictures......Ask yourself, do I want to see other strangers kids and wedding pictures or do I want to see the room and how spacious it is.  And in this day and age do you want strangers knowing what your family looks like and where they live or what they have accomplished. OK then, take them all down.  You still love your family and they will love you for not showing the whole world "their world".2. Your prized collections......Do you really think that strangers like the same Elvis Presley plate collection?  Put them in storage, just until you relocate, and you will find that it will be like Christmas again and that "Elvis is aliv...

Staging is not a new concept.  It has been around since the early '90's but like everything it takes an idea to travel around awhile before everyone catches the concept and can see the value.HGTV was the wild fire for establishing the staging concept.  They informed their viewers about this innovative concept of presenting the home completely ready to the future homeowners.  A "ready to move in and live" look.  By de-cluttering, de-personalizing, reshaping the existing furniture or adding a complete home of furniture helps to establish an excitement and a connection to the new homeowner.Staging is not going to go away any time soon, so get on board and use it in your marketing efforts.  Call today for a free estimate.  Weather you stage the primary living spaces or use small staging con...
