Commentary on the Fed Funds Rate Cut: by Christopher Probert. (SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, NV)  Wednesday's bond market has opened in negative territory as stocks continue yesterday's late rally. The stock markets are posting another round of gains during early trading with the Dow up 86 points and the Nasdaq up 19 points. We were sitting there watching it, the News this morning, barely noticing that housing starts are at the lowest they have been since 1995. What the Fed Funds Rate Cut could mean for you! As you probably know by now, the Federal Reserve lowered it’s rates today by a half point. This is it’s benchmark interest rate, and the cut represents an aggressive policy shift that is intended to limit the damage to our economy from the recent disorders and corrections in the housing and credit markets.An interest rate cut had been expected, what’s important, though, is the Fed elected to choose a bolder rate cut than the more cautious quarter-point reduction that many had anticipated.   This is the first Fed interest rate cut in 4 years.
