The purpose this study is to detect any increases in foreclosure listings, and to see if there have been any notable changes in traditional home listing patterns. The subtext of this, of course, is to determine if the sky is falling, which is the basis of much reported assertions and predictions of a foreclosure deluge that is sure to come. What's happening in Lake Tahoe? In South Lake Tahoe: The Soroptimist International of South Lake Tahoe and Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra recognized several women with the Soroptimist Women's Opportunity Awards. To be eligible, the applicants must be women.  They must be the primary financial supporter for their families.  They have to be enrolled in or be accepted in vocational or skill training program, or in an undergraduate degree program.   This year's winners are Tiffany Reid and Lisa Shafer.  They will receive $2000 each.  The cash award will help these women offset any costs that's associated with attaining higher education and to help pay for books, childcare, and transportation.
