Here's the most recent article and  LOWE'S UPDATE provided by My Mother Lode website. This is GOOD news for some. BAD for others. Many locals are uncomfortable with a larger company moving into Sonora, CA. They feel it may take business away from the smaller guys, bring more traffic, more people. And, it may very well do all those things. On the other side of the issue is the fact that a large company, such as LOWE'S, does NOT just "come to any-town, anywhere," unless they've done their homework and they see growth. That could be good for all. If you're a long-time local, however, you're already sick of us city folks coming up and gobbling up your beautiful land. But, remember, we only do it because we LOVE it here, as you do.  I for one hope, IF LOWE'S comes to town, it will NOT put a ...

The Love of a Father by Jim Hildreth  As a long-term real estate broker, I have learned that real estate is all about "Dreams." The California Gold Country and Sonora is a destination for many buyers from the Bay Area and, in particular, buyers from Santa Clara Couunty. Buyers who plan to retire, buyers who want to find a lot to build there future home, buyers who desire and dream of a mountain cabin. This weekend, the foothills were drenched with pouring rain and snow. A prospective buyer was Murray. Murray is 80 years old and is a native of New York. Like many people his age, he has worked thorougout his life. He has lost his wife and he has a small savings and pension. Murray is frugal and lives in a retirement home in San Mateo. His dream is to find a mountain home that has a year-...

Tuolumne County will be getting a TJ Maxx in Fall 2007.  It will be located in the Junction Shopping Center.  JC Penney's vacated that location several years ago.  This will provide many jobs for the locals.Sonora just got its second Starbucks.  The first is located in the Crossroads Shopping Center.  It has a drive through.  The new Starbucks just went into the Junction Shopping Center.  This location is much larger and has plenty of seats.  There is no drive-thru but that has not slowed down business.

Well Tuolumne County has it all except the ocean! We grew up in Southern California right on the beach but Tuolumne County is Best!!  We have all four seasons, beautiful autumn colors, white winters with snow for skiiers, spring flowers of purple lupin and golden poppy's covering the hillsides and warm to hot summers with many choice lakes and rivers to explore.  This is a community the whole family can enjoy. Many people buy a second home here and look to retire in this beautiful area.  We are very greatful to live in such a beautiful location!  If you haven't been to Sonora, Ca. it is worth the time to take a vacation here and check out what we have to offer. While your here visit Yosemite National Park, with breath taking sites and waterfalls.
