Some of you in the Mother Lode are snowed in this morning? (But, of course, I made it to work!) I've got some quick pictures and a video (see below) of the snow in the Chaparral Heights area of Mono Vista (across from Soulsbyville). Got a little over 4 inches overnight at my house. And with Christmas just 10 days away and the white stuff having made an appearance, did you know how they determine whether it's a white Christmas or not? Any guesses? Here's how they measure it: if you have 1 inch of snow on the ground at 8 a.m Christmas morning, that's technically a "white Christmas." And so what if you only have 3/4 of an inch? Not good enough. And what if you have no snow at all at 8:00, but you get 15 feet exactly at 8:01? Not good enough either. Don't you just love it? I hope you enjoy... 12/15/2008

    This photo may best describe the antispation of waiting for Santa to arrive in downtown Sonora for the annual Christmas Parade held each year the Friday evening after Thanksgiving. The parade attracts your and old and truly reflects the small town feeling of Sonora. Horses, bands, antique cars, fire engines and of course Santa.
