The outdoor fairs and festivals are now in abundance here in North County San Diego, and what better way to enjoy the terrific weather and all the cultural activities we have in our coastal beach communities (the Annual Carlsbad Village Street Fair was May 4; the Encinitas Street Fair was the previous weekend). Coming in June, the Fletcher Cove area in beautiful Solana Beach will be the setting the for 2008 Fiesta del Sol Festival, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, the City of Solana Beach, and the famous Belly Up. The Belly Up, well known for the live music for 31 years at the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach’s Cedros District, will oversee the musical talents for the Fiesta del Sol Festival, so we are assured the musical performances featuring some fun bands will be outstanding.Vi...

Here's a new aerial that I took of Fletcher Cover Park in Solana Beach.  This is a really nice park with awesome ocean views and path to the beach!I took this picture using our pole camera rig.  The one item that I thought became really obvious was the infinity symbol shape of the rubber tot lot mat.  From the ground, you could see that it had a shape, but it wasn't so obvious at all.  With the aerial shot, it really sticks out.  It was a great January day!Margaret Hokkanen, Solana Beach Real Estate

The summary statistics from the MLS for Solana Beach for January, February, March and April 2007 are shown below.Several trends are worth noting and watching over the next few months. The absorption rate has increased for attached homes - with the inventory fairly stable, the number of sales has slacked off a bit so we now have about 7 months worth of inventory.Prices have remained fairly stable in the last 4 months, although they have bounced around as you look on a monthly basis; this is often due to the particular inventory that sells each month. This is also true, to some extent, of prices as compared to a year ago.Given the nature of our market, it is prudent to continue to watch on a monthly basis, as one cannot draw any firm conclusions based on these data. If I can provide more i...

Here are the summary MLS statistics for Solana Beach for the months of November and December 2006.Most notable is the downward shift in inventory by 17% from November to December - this is not entirely unexpected due to the holiday season. Solana Beach prices, while showing a small decrease from November to December for detached homes, remain stable or continue to rise albeit slowly - there has been no overall change in the median for attached homes, however detached homes have increased by 4% since 1 year ago.The spring market will be very telling in terms of the type of activity we are likely to see in 2007. Because of the relatively small inventory and the appeal of the beach, Solana Beach remains one of the more desirable, and expensive, coastal towns in the San Diego area. Of the 3...

We had a wonderful experience sending our daughter to Solana Beach Presbyterian Preschool.  She spent two years thre and really developed into a neat kid.  The teachers are extremely caring and the student to teacher ratio is less than 10-1.We strarted our daughter off in the three day program when she was three years old.  We were amazed at how much she learned in that short year.  She learned to count, identify letters, shapes, and colors.  Her spiritual development basically advanced to :God is good". That was wonderful and exceeded our expectations.  She participated in group projects, learned socia; interaction, and how to deal with frustration. We advanced her to the five day program for her four year old year.  This is when she really started learning!  They start emphasizing phon...
