Wow, truly an historic day for mortgage rates yesterday! In light of the messages conveyed at the Fed Meeting, mortgage rates sharply spiked and subsequently dipped repeatedly all morning, sending mortgage professionals and borrowers into panic mode. Those who waited out the turbulence until the afternoon were hugely rewarded, as mortgage pricing ended the day with a net improvement of 106 BASIS POINTS! Short-term profit takers have already begun today as predicted, forcing a "correction" of 42 basis points for the day thus far in early morning trading. The David Alan Collection in the Cedros Design District of Solana Beach CA     A stroll through the Cedros Design District would not be complete without spending time at the David Alan Collection, an amazing store featuring art, collectibles, furniture (tables, chairs, armoires), decorative screen, fabric and textiles, accessories, and so much more from Asia and the Far East.   It is not hard to spend hours here, even if you are just exploring and enjoying. Be sure to enjoy their “Indiana Jones” room as they call it, a basement filled to the brim, wall to wall with   The David Alan Collection is hard to characterize, for me at least, but as their website says, it’s “Asian fusion, tropical modern or contemporary rustic, but it incorporates contemporary, primitive, European, Nouveau, Deco...

Father’s Day Mega-Lettuce   Bet THAT title got you!       We spent a rare few free hours today in Solana Beach in the Cedros Design District, starting with a late lunch as a favorite place, the Wild Note Café (attached to the famed Belly-Up) followed by a stroll around this area which caters to those who are seeking furnishings for a home and/or are remodeling inside and out. Lots of galleries and clothing stores, too…all in all a VERY cool place to spend a few hours.   The Farmer’s Market in Solana Beach is one of the best I have seen outside of the one in LA and in San Francisco, especially for a small town.   The lettuce, perhaps the largest head of red leaf lettuce I’ve ever witnessed, called out to us, and at $2.50, was a tremendous bargain. There’s enough lettuce for a salad for b...

Solana Beach & Encinitas, California Launch Beach Maintenance Efforts! The proposed project area is divided into two segments. The first is a 2-mile stretch of beach in Encinitas from the 700 block of Neptune Avenue to Swami's reef the Second includes the entire 1.7 miles of coastline in Solana Beach, California. In the last decades the shorelines of both cities have experience accelerated beach and bluff erosion in part caused by El Nino conditions. Sand delivery from rivers has been significantly reduced due to damming for water storage project and construction of highways, railroads and streets.
