Lake San Marcos is a resort residential community in the southwest corner of San Marcos, close to the Carlsbad line. Lake San Marcos has a long reputation as a retirement community and while the demographics have shifted in recent years, the community still draws a large percentage of folks who are retired.   The Lake San Marcos community, while not exclusively 55+, has several areas that are limited to those 55 and older - both condominiums (some are at The Chateau, which is an assisted living community that includes dining and housekeeping as some of the services covered through the monthly fees) and detached homes are available. Homes, for the most part, are single story which has a strong appeal for many buyers, especially seniors, and the two golf courses and the man-made lake add ...

Roughly one in every seven mortgages either was past due or in foreclosure by the end of the third quarter-the highest delinquency rate in the 37-year history of the Mortgage Bankers Association's National Delinquency Survey.  Two factors are expected to drive delinquencies even higher next year: Underwater homeowners and unemployment.  Nearly one in four homeowners currently owes more on their mortgage than their home currently is worth, and additional job losses could mean more borrowers will be unable to meet their mortgage obligations   The performance of the national housing market is much less important than the local real estate market, and sales and pricing trends will vary a great deal from one area to the next.  Some real estate industry experts forecast home prices in certain...

From the moment you enter the double doors of the Spaghetti Factory, you will be transported into a truly pleasant culinary experience. The décor is fashionably design with an antique motif. Vintage pictures of San Diego abound on the walls that take you back to the early 1900 as an added bonus you can request seating in the trolley car, which is part of the charm for the kids.    The menu consists of a wide range of spaghetti combination, along with some dishes that offer chicken as well as fish. Lunch specials are available. With your meal you are offer bread along with a choice of either soup or salad, and the main course. Save room for desert, for an astonishingly reasonable price you get desert included.  Located right off the 78 freeway and Twin Oaks exist in San Marcos, it is eas...

First time buyers CAN complete in this market! Many First time buyers are frustrated because they may be going with FHA financing, which is not the first choice for the sellers out there.  Most of the sellers in our market are banks. Even if the seller is the owner, the majority of those sellers are doing a short sale, which must be approved by their lender. I am extremely happy to share that first time home buyers, using FHA financing do get their offers accepted and they DO get into their first home.   blah blah blah....a picture is worth a thousand words....see below!!  They are holding a RE/MAX key fob.   . . . . * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * For your Real Estate needs in North San Diego or Southwest Riverside County........ Cal State San Marcos, yesterday stopped accepting undergraduate applications, the earliest the school has done so in its 20 year history. Since its inception back in 1961 California State University system has been all about access. Meet the minimum requirement, apply on time and for the most you got in. Not so any longer. Competition has come in a big way to the 23 campus 450,000 student network ----the nation's largest college system. For students willing to stay close to home, the silver lining is a decade-old Cal State policy guaranteeing admission to qualified applicants of each university's service area. There is a slight wrinkle, no longer can you miss any dead lines if you do you are eliminated --- period. Cal State San Marcos which has 9,700 students is looking to trim its enro...

Fish House Vera Cruz Located In North San Diego County. 360 Via Vera Cruz, San Marcos, CA 92078 (760) 744-8000  Recently dined at the Fish House Vera Cruz in San Marcos, in what is know as California Restaurant Row on Sunday, we were seated on the patio; we chose to go mid afternoon. The weather was perfect for sitting out on the patio.  The hostess that seated us was very pleasant, and the waitress came quickly to take our orders.  The menu consist of only seafood, from the exotic to the ordinary, price wise it is semi affordable, the least expensive item on the menu is the cup of soup and then if you want bread that is an additional cost.  Which I must say is something new--- it use to be included.  Having dined at the Fish House Vera Cruz in Carlsbad, Temecula I find the location in ...
