San Diego County Home Prices Up Nearly 10 % From 2012 San Diego real estate has been all over the local news this past week. Part of the reason is because the S&Ps Case-Shiller Home Price Indices recently announced that housing prices in San Diego County have gone up 9.8 percent from January 2012 to January 2013. Nearly 10 percent! The Case-Shiller index is calculated every month and has a two-month lag since it covers repeat sales. The report also indicated that San Diego County's year-to-year increase was the 9th largest of the 20 cities that were included in the report. This is promising news for North San Diego County home sellers, and is likely a sign of things to come! I've previously touched on some of the reasons behind the current surge in home prices. City of San Marcos, California To Sponsor Discovery Hike. The City of San Marcos is sponsoring a "Discover San Marcos" hike at 9AM, Saturday (February 2, 2013) beginning at the Cerro de las Posas Park parking lot,  1387 W. Borden road, San Marcos, California.. The three-mile hike includes Santa Fe Hills Trails, the Arboretum and Rail Trail. A side trip to the top of "P" Palomar mountain will be offered.
