The Antelope Valley Mall in Palmdale will be installing a temporary ice skating rink for the holidays! This is the first time the Ice Rink has been in the mall. Two days ago the local newspaper, The Antelope Valley Press (www.avpress.com) announced that our regional airport located at Air Force Plant 42 may reach it's 10,000th passenger this weekend since the latest restart of commercial flights on June 7 of this year. For us locals, this is big league stuff! This is the time of year when we sit back and give thanks for all that we have, and hopefully help those who are also in need.  Most of us can not go shopping without hearing the sounds of bells trying to get donations for the less fortunate.  Most of these are for very good charities- but there is one organization that you will not hear out there ringing bells - and that is the Antelope Valley Dog & Cat Rescue (more information).The Quartz Hill Community Queens have put together a Pet Food Drive for the needy cats and dogs of the Antelope Valley.
