Pavel's Backerei is Pacific Grove's favorite bakery..for me and the rest of the town.       DON'T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT READ ALL OF THE GREAT YELP REVIEWS Pavel's Bakerei IS What a great bakery is made of.  Get there early as they run out of goodies fast.. there is a wide variety of sweets, breads, sandwiches, pizza.  It is a great place to meet a friend, or grab treats on your way.  I always stop there and bring special treats when going to friends houses....Probably why I have been getting alot of invites... I have decided that the cream cheese danish is my new best friend.  It is crispy on the outside, with a generous portion of cream cheese and a flaky pastry...reminds me of the cream cheese danish my mom used to make.   The bread, that is another story.  I went there on Christmas Eve...

Vivolos Chowder House Is a Hidden Treasure in Pacific Grove. Over the years, I have driven by countless times It is located at 127 Central Avenue in Pacific Grove. I have heard great things about it over the years, and just never tried it.  My husband grew up in the same town of Whitman Massachusetts as the owner Mark Davis.  They knew each others families growing up.  Well, a few weeks ago, I tried it and I am hooked.  I have never been a fan of clam chowder, I don't like chunks of potato in soup.  This chowder is CHOWDA!!  It has the perfect blend of clams, potato's and is seasoned to perfection, creamy, yet not too thick, not too thin...it is perfection in a bowl.  Last night, we tried the seafood bisque, my husband literally embarrassed me by licking the bowl!!  (I mean it, he real...

So I am trying to have a little more fun with my blog by posting some of the photography I have been lucky enough to be able to take here on the beautiful Monterey Peninsula.  The old blog needs a little bit more than just real estate statistics and homes for sale and the occasional ranting of the author about something that happened earlier that week. This picture was taken in Pacific Grove, CA along Ocean View Boulevard just before the Pacific Grove Golf Course at a place the locals call "Kissing Rock."  They call it that because at a different angle it appears that there are two figures kissing.  I was playing around taking some longer exposures when I caught this surprising picture that reminds me of fireworks going off.  I thought it was appropriate with it being Valentines Day.  ...

Just for fun I thought I would upload a picture I took of the Point Pinos Lighthouse in Pacific Grove, CA.  For those of you who don't know, the Point Pinos Lighthouse is the oldest continuously operating lighthouse on the west coast.  It was put into operation in February 1, 1855 and has been a beacon of light warning sailors of the potential rocky dangers off the coast and it marks the southern tip of the Monterey Bay. In 1602, Spanish explorer Sebastian Vizcaino named the northern tip of the Monterey Peninsula "Punta de los Pinos," or Point of the Pines while exploring the California coast.  Back then the pine trees grew thick right to the waters edge. For more information on the Pacific Grove Lighthouse you can click here. This photograph was taken with a Canon 5d Mark II and is t...

Our team just sold this house at 925 Petra Lane in Pacific Grove, CA on January 11, 2011.   Congratulations to the new owners!!!  This is a great Pacific Grove home located on a very quiet street in one of the best neighborhoods in PG, Candycane Lane.  It was already aggressively priced at $550,000 and my clients were able to pick it up for $520,000.  Although it was a bit date, 925 Petra Lane in Pacific Grove was in impeccable condition. It had refinished oak hardwood floors, newer dual pane windows and both bathrooms had been updated in what I would guess was the middle 1980's.  The kitchen was roomy and extremely clean!  It was a great buy! If you are looking for a great buy in Pacific Grove real estate, be sure to look us up.  We would be happy to find you a great peice of Monterey...
