Bart's Bookstore in Ojai, CA: a destination place for book lovers... As most of you who read my post know I am passionate about a few subject: Real Estate, Wine, Food and Books. Needless to say the other day I saw a list of independent bookstores from all over the world. I enjoyed it immensely since I have visited most of them in my life time.  Then I noticed that there was one Diane & I have not been to. This was exciting since the book store was close to us. Clearly this called for a “road trip” so off we went to Ojai to Bart’s Bookshttp://www.bartsbooksojai.com I tried my best and only came back with four books. Diane was even more disciplined and she only walked out with two books. Anyway if you have an opportunity to be near Ojai you have to check this bookstore out. Tell me if you...

Summary of the Ojai Single Family Real Estate Market for June, 2013.   How did the Ojai Single Family Homes Real Estate Market perform in June 2013? Scarcity of homes on the market still dominates the state of the Ojai Single Family Home prices. This low inventory is still the driving force of price appreciation. We are seeing multiple offers on most homes, especially those priced below $650K.     It can’t be stressed enough, that home buyers must have their financing in place before a home of choice is identified.   It is common to get multiple offers within days of a home coming on the market, and there is no time to get pre-approved in time to compete with buyers that have their pre-approval letter in hand or proof of funds if it is an all cash offer.   Ojai Single Family Homes Real ...

Ojai celebrates July 4th in small town style with parade.   Better hurry to get a place on the parade route for the 4th of July parade in Ojai.  Beginning last week, lawn chairs popped up sparsely all along the route.   By tomorrow morning, July 4th, all the curb space will be taken along the parade route beginning at Country Club Drive moving along Ojai Avenue to Park Road.   This parade is all about the Ojai community.  There won’t be any big fancy floats or big celebrities that will be drawing folks to this parade route. It will be all about friends, family, neighbors. It will be about the high school kids, the karate kids, the aspiring ballerinas in their tutus who are the stars of this 4th of July celebration.   It is about a small, slightly eclectic, very much artist community com...
