Newport Beach Homes For Sale We are all concerned with what the Real estate market is doing these days. Yes, prices are down and the number of sales are also down. But what many don't realize is that home pricing goes in cycles. We have been thru down times before and homes prices have always come up. It is now time for those who could not afford to buy at low prices and also take advantage of the low interest rates. Investors, it's also a wonderful opportunity for you. While it's not the time to buy, fix up, and sell. It is time to buy a property and rent it out. The outcome some years from now will be worth the investment. Do not let all the negativity in the media get to you. I do agree we are in a recession, sometimes I wonder if it's almost a depresssion. But think positive, if you...

This year, Newport Beach celebrates its 100th Annual Christmas Boat Parade from Wednesday, December 17, 2008 through Sunday December 21, 2008.  Although the parade has a new starting point this year, just off Bay Island, it will follow the same route and will start at 6:30 pm and end around 9:00 pm. To celebrate the 100th anniversary, there will fireworks off the Balboa Pier at 6:25 pm Wednesday night just before the start of the parade. This dazzling parade of lights features everything from multi million dollar yachts to kayaks all decorated for the holidays and participating in this local holiday event. The Newport Beach boat parade is so much a part of our holiday that I don't think I can remember a year when I didn't attend even last year, when I was nine months pregnant. This year...

Donate a Toy for a Make-A-Wish Hi Everyone:   Wouldn't you like to put a smile on a child's face?  Make-A-Wish kids are children with "life threatening" diseases, they spend their days fighting for their health in hospitals and therapy.  In their medical world, especially at Christmas Time, it would really be great if we could lift their spirits and add a little happiness to their hospital rooms and bedrooms at home to get a toy or gift certificate.    Use your imagination, a toy for any age, boy or girl, a gift certificate from Target, Blockbuster or McDonalds for the teenagers would make a huge difference!!!  We all have so much more than these kids have, let's give from the heart to those not quite as fortunate as we are.....   I will have a box at the front of the office to drop off...

Why don't the Big 3 car companies ask for a bail out from the oil companies? They will both benefit. The car companies will continue to make gas guzzlers and the oil companies will have lots of clients. Why not take the next stimulus package and instead of giving the money to banks, insurance companies and other places that would not make a bit of difference, give every tax payer that filed taxes in '07 a $25,000.00 check. This would cost far less than the new 500 billion that Congress is proposing again. We will be able to infuse this money back into the economy by buying all kinds of things like homes, cars, TVs, all kinds of consumer goods and this would really stimulate the economy. As for those that will save the money, it will be good for the banks as well. They will be increasing...

Who knew that we'd be seeing a 30 yrs fixed rate loan at 5.00% again?? Well here it is. If only anyone has a job, and decent credit and most of all a little equity, this could be a very Merry Christmas for them. The rates are testing to bottom again and from what all the whispers coming out of the Federal Reserve, looks like they might trim the rates even more, if there will be anything left to trim. This is a funny business in a very strange market. If anyone has any equity left they could get a great loan if they're refinancing providing that you can prove that you can pay the loan back. Why don't banks that are getting bail outs have to prove that they will be able to repay the tax payers back for the money that they're taking from us. Why are they less accountable than us?? Why are ...

Bay Island - Newport Beach Bay Island is a private gated community located in Newport Beach. Located off the Balboa Peninsula, Bay Island has 23 private residences. These homes are actually a co-op, and each of the residents have access to the private tennis court, the garden area which is located in the center of the island, and parking for their vehicles which is off site. There is also a full time care taker that lives on Bay Island. Bay Island is impeccably maintained with beautiful and lush landscaping, and beautiful flower gardens. Fall Season in the Newport Beach Area In Newport Beach, while there are not many trees which have the changing of the colors, you can definitely notice the change in seasons in many ways. One way is that the sun is in a different position in the sky, and therefore the sunsets are different. In this picture, the sun is setting right over Catalina Island, and this photograph was taken from a home in Cameo Shores in Corona del Mar. Also, in certain areas, such as Newport Shores in Newport Beach, the wild life is different. During spring and summer months, Newport Shores has blue and white Herons, ducks, seagulls and sand pipers just to name a few. During the fall, not only are those birds evident, but a beautiful white swan comes for a visit. In prior years there have been two swans, but n...

Lido Island Market Trends Yesterday - I went and previewed some homes on Lido Island in Newport Beach. Currently the lowest priced bay front on Via Lido Nord and is priced at $3,349,126. This property is located on the bay and right along a sandy beach. There is no slip, and one cannot be added. However, the views are phenomenal. This a good price for a bay front home. Here is a photo of the view from this property looking out to the bay. What a great place to view the annual parade of lights tour in December. The following is the Lido Island Market absorption graph for the past one year.   Please contact me if I can answer any questions about Newport Beach Luxury Homes, Newport Coast Luxury homes, Costa Mesa Real Estate, or Newport Beach Real Estate. Tree Lighting Ceremony Fashion Island, Newport Beach Update on Annual Christmas Tree Lighting at Fashion Island in Newport Beach. Tree lighting will be on November 20 and 21st, 2009 at Fashion Island on the Atrium Lawn next to Santa's House. Last week, I visited Fashion Island last week to find out if they were in the process of putting up the annual Christmas Tree in the courtyard at Fashion Island. And on a warm afternoon, they were in the process of putting up the tree and adding branches to fill it in. Many of the branches were on the ground and the workers were in the process of creating and filling the tree. The tree branches were narrowed at the ends and placed into holes which were drilled into the tree trunk with shims. It was an interesting process. The tree is also anchored ...

While enjoying a glass of my homemade Zinfandel, I began to think about wine and real estate. As the amount of wine in my glass began to diminish, I began to ponder this question; What's the relationship between wine, (is that fine wine or TwoBuck Charlie?) and real estate here in Newport Beach, California? Well for starters, like wine bottles, homes in Newport Beach comes in many shapes and sizes. Just like a bottle of wine, who knows what you'll get before you pop the cork or, shall we say, open the door. Go into the wine shop and start checking out all the bottles - Yikes! There is so much to choose from. Lots of inventory - heard that one lately? The prices - well, as any wine lover would say, you can spend a little or drop a ton. But, hey, it all goes down the gullet, whets the whi...

Today, November 4, 2008 my daughter Heather voted for her first time. She registered before October 20th as that was the cut off.  We have been watching the campaigning for the past (how long has it been?) year plus, discussed the candidates, propositions. Heather and I went over the sample ballot together, and she made her own decisions about how to vote, and definitely understood it is a privilege to vote. When Heather came home from school today, we went together to vote down at the Newport Shores clubhouse. Well, I could not pass up this photo op, so I brought along my camera. And she is now wearing her "I Voted" sticker. Congratulations to all first time voters, as it is a momentous time to have your opinion count and respected. Congratulations Heather!

Happy Halloween to You All This is one of my favorite holidays, and every year, we decocate the house with lots of scary decorations, black light, strobe lights and a fog machine. Our family loves Halloween. In fact, as my friend mentioned to me yesterday, if you are looking for a "kid friendly neighborhood" check out the neighborhoods with the cool Halloween decorations. Last night we carved a few pumpkins, and I wanted to share them with you. This one took my daughter Heather a while to carve. Enjoy a spooky day and evening!!

Well you probably think I'm ahead of myself, but not really. The Newport Beach Boat Parade is always a sell out at the local restaurants. This parade started in the early 1900's with just canoes and gondolas. Today some participants spend $50,000 to decorate their vessels for this traditional event. The Newport Beach Boat Parade is the largest in Southern California. The boat parade starts at 6:30 pm every evening starting December 17-21. This year the parade has a new route starting just off Bay Island and ending in the same spot. Make reservations NOW! The following restaurants can accommodate you and your friends at waterside tables to watch the parade.
