The first time I saw John Wayne's houseI was 14 and that was a long time ago.  I have gone down to visit a friend from high school to discover they lived next to John Wayne.  Wow that was unbelievable news at that time. The home was in Bayshore estates.  That was something I told all our friends about and I never did see John Wayne only the house.  I was not aware that he owned a home in Big Canyon also. So you could imagine the surprise when I saw today that John Wayne's house was on the market.  Not the one I knew but the Big Canyon home in Newport Beach.  It is a 4,448 sf home and came on the market for $2.26 million.  Oh well it was fun for me to move down memory lane.  If you are looking for wonderful large estates or homes with a past give me a call. 09/05/2010

One of my new finds this summer was Banzai Bowl in Costa Mesa on the corner of 17Th street and Irvine Avenue. Talk about a refreshing, filling, & healthy meal! A Banzai bowlis made with everything organic and it tastes amazing! It's fresh, made while you wait. Do order ahead or do not be in a rush. They are very busy and it takes a little while to make. My favorite is the OG BOWL. Made with a frozen packet of acai berry, bananas, frozen strawberries and blueberries, A LITTLE BIT OF APPLE JUICE, blended until the consistency of sherbet. Activities in Newport Beach – Visit Catalina Island Catalina Island is an island,  located off the Southern California coast and is approximately 22 miles long, and 8 miles wide. It is located approximately 26 miles from Newport Beach. Farmer’s Market Debuts in Newport Beach The Farmer’s Market opened yesterday July 11, 2010 at theLido Marina Village on the brick lined street of Via Oporto in Newport Beach. We arrived yesterday morning at around 10:15 and they were giving out recyclable bags. There was a good crowd, and most of the vendors had already sold out of many of their goods. The Farmer's Market in Newport Beach will run every Sunday morning. The vendors had organic fruit and vegetables, flowers arrangements and orchids available for purchase. A number of the vendors had samples and I must say the oranges and the berries were delicious – there were cherries, peaches, yellow rasperries, red rasperries, and blueberries just to name a few.
