Newport Harbor in Newport Beach | Speechless Sunday in the Rain I took this photo a couple of weeks ago when I went down to take pictures of the big waves at the Wedge in Newport Beach. It is looking across the harbor from Balboa Peninsula Point towards Corona del Mar. Blackies Classic Surf n Fun 2014 | Halloween Events in Newport Beach Halloween events "Newport Style" This year this event will be held on October 25, 2014. I am sure many of you have heard of the Wedge in Newport Beach, it is a very popular area, that because of the direction it faces, with a south swell, the waves can be huge. Balboa Island Ferry in Newport Beach At preview on Friday, I was previewing some amazing homes on Peninsula Point in Newport Beach. I always enjoy taking the Balboa Island Ferry across to Balboa Island.  A very scenic and beautiful way to see Newport Harbor.      The ferry holds 3 cards, bicycles and pedestrians.     The Balboa Island Ferry is a ferry which transports autos, pedestrians and bicycles to and from Balboa Island to the Balboa Peninsula. The Balboa Island Ferry has been in existence since 1919. It is an amazing way to view the Harbor. It is a very short trip - usually about 3 minutes, but picturesque just the same.
