Speechless Sunday: Did you ever have a Persimmon?... I have always been open minded about trying different things of all food varieties... now with that said I have been around for a hundred years, and I never had Persimmon. Have you?Well Diane's office manager brought us two Persimmons from her tree. We never had it until now. I looked and amazingly Trader Joe's charges .79 a piece, Kroger's aka Ralphs charges $1.49 a piece. Well with that said we finally had one because it was given to us.Let me know if you had it and what your thoughts were. I hear it can be made into Jam or cookies we had one to taste. We still have one more to eat.  Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. If you are looking for a knowledgeable, focused and goal-oriented Realtor in t...

It's that time of year again: remember to set you clocks this weekend. As most of you know I complain about this ritual twice a year. It always feels like to me that, we just set the clocks forward and now we are setting it back. What I do not understand is why are we still doing this? There was an election last year the majority of Californians voted to eliminate this ritual... anyway politicians do whatever they want that is my take.I am always grumpy when this happens it takes me about four or five days for my body clock to adjust to the time changes. Then if I may continue my grousing, we have two cats and a dog who have built in Rolexes, and they do not understand why breakfast and dinner are either an hour early or an hour late.I am generally upbeat and positive all year around wit...

Not the first time I am thanking  Ricki Eichler McCallum for getting me back to reading again! After enjoying her novel and sequel, I next decided to pick up Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie. If you've not read this classic tale book and love mysteries, this one is a must read.  I saw the movie when it came out in 1974 with the stellar cast of Sean Connery, Richard Widmark and Ingrid Bergman and Albert Finney as Inspector Poirot. After all these years, I had no recollection of the details or the ending, hence it was an easy fast-paced read that held my attention and had me guessing right up to the last page. The history of the Orient Express is a colorful one; Wikipedia offers a great synopsis that is worth the read if you are so inclined. If not, the basics are that the ...

Have you had this Garbanzo Soup? My fans loved it... I have been on a kick to use dried beans and bring them back to life. This time I chose Garbanzo Beans. I soaked them for two days replacing the water with fresh water. Then I opted to boil them in chicken stock for about two hours. Diane kept asking me what I going to make with them. I told her be patient and some will be soup others will be a side dish.Well today I decided to make the soup. Basically, add another two hours or more to the process. The end result was a superb soup and Diane loved it.The pasta is minimal just cook it in the soup when you are close to finishing about 15 minutes from serving.take half the soup or about a fourth and blend in another container once you done that put it back into the main soup, will make it so...

Some of you might not recall, when I started out my Real Estate practice 26+years ago, my Office was on Sunset Blvd. in West Hollywood. I was caramelizing onions the other day and I could tell Diane had a craving for the best French Onion Soup. I have not made it in a while, clearly because it is very time consuming.Well today was the day I finally finished it and she was thrilled. The recipe is easy 8 sweet onions, caramelized for anywhere from 4-8 hours. Then once it is about a cup and a half add it to it about 4-5 quarts of chicken stock, I mix it with chicken bone broth. Here you go again reduce it to about 40 per cent or more of the liquid. takes about another three or four hours.Once you are there add another ten minutes to toast the crouton and add the cheese. Once done broil for about 3-4 minutes. All I can say is Bone Appetite. Thank you Thomas Keller uber chef of many restaurants. Wishing you a safe and healthy ...

Speechless Sunday: While waiting for my smog check and certificate, I had to sit for about 10-15 minutes next to this bird cage.I had so much fun watching many of these birds, eating, frolicking and check me out too.I needed to get this done since in a few days my registration needed renewing too. Hence smog check then across the street to DMV as in Department of Motor Vehicles to renew my registration. All done within an hour and a half from start to finish. The best part was watching the birds.   Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. How is your Halloween Decoration coming along? This was the question one of our neighbors asked me three blocks away as I was walking Holly. Keep in mind the top photo and this one were taken at their home.I had to admit shamefully that we are still at ground zero. Needless to say he offered his wife to help me and she in turn clarified that it was their four-year-old daughter who handled the decorations, she was just following orders. Well, I must admit it was incredible a 12-foot-high skeleton and the list goes on. Now with that I was shamed into buying candy this year after the last two years not participating in Halloween thanks to the Covid Shutdown by our politicians.Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. Throwback Thursdays: Hard to believe we had the bird bath installed a year ago today! Diane and I have been enjoying the many birds of all different size and shape visiting it.In all fairness Diane is on top of constantly replacing the dirty water with fresh water and the joy it gives us watching the birds enjoy the bird bath, is hard to express.I have a front row view from the kitchen window as I was the vegetables and the dishes. I need to take some pictures of the birds instead of being mesmerized by the joy it provides them. They always remind me of my parents who would feed the birds and get the same happy results and satisfaction from watching them. Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. So with that said I had to jump and go to work. Let me know what you think. It was all baked and it took a bit of an effort, good thing I had been marinating a chicken breast in the fridge. Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. Tasteful Tuesdays: Well, you know I always like food, so it is an easy post for me to write. The hard part is what food post to share with you.Well, the other day Diane came home from work, and she stopped at the Farmers Market in Century City. She bought back this "Mediterranean pizza." just to be clear it was not a pizza. The photo does not do service it was a thin, let me be clear thinner than a Fajita. So here I have three slices of this Mediterranean pizza:) so what will I make for dinner tonight? So with that said I went to work quickly, and the key is to have material in your fridge. Well see for yourself I made the equivalent of a shrimp Fajita and it was a winner:). Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. Proper planning and event anticipation are two critical necessities for a savvy Realtor. The more prepared and focused one is, the more successful one becomes.  We can, of course, apply this to anyone and in any profession.  At 10 years old, I saw my parents take the leap of faith to leave Communist Hungary and begin our lives over in the United States.  When I was in the US Army and enrolled in Ranger School, it was ingrained to plan every forward step and that you can never be overly prepared. Not only did we have to plan, but we had to practice every step; thus, whenever we actually had to do something (i.e., the Long Range Patrol) my unit was ready, and we could do it in our sleep.  Although I've not played chess in decades, at one point I played regularly; anyone who plays or playe...
