Wordless Wednesdays: We had a visitor in our back yard... this visitor came by a few weeks ago. I was out on appointments and Diane told me we had a backyard visitor, asked her to take some pictures.Needless to say, we live about 6.5 miles from the Pacific Ocean, and this is a very unusual visitor. Brown Pelicans stay close to the ocean. As it turns out for some reason the water has been too high for them to do their daily fishing and keep themselves nourished. Hence many were malnourished and were spreading out to other areas looking for food, luckily most were being rescued.Diane, reached out to 'Wetlands and Wildlife Care Center'. Just Sold : 0 Hillpark Dr. vacant land in the Hollywood Hills... this sale is extra special, because I had the listing years ago and we could not sell it due to Title Insurance Issues.Go figure the seller went after the Title Company and received a "settlement" from the Title Co. for not insuring the land. Speechless Sunday: Do you experiment and try out new type of food, wine or are you more of the same old same old type of person? Or should I say are you an adventurous person who is willing to try something new? Something you have not tried before? Another Wordless Wednesday Post: How to recycle leftover pasta... well take some fresh Shitake mushrooms, add some langostino tails, some mixed seafood both frozen and some onions, fresh baby spinach with some chicken stock or broth.Little olive oil and some butter well that is just for extra flavors and then ones the mushrooms have been sauteed and the mixed seafood is cooked as well, then add a little more chicken stock for extra liquid and flavors. If you have sundried tomatoes with oil add a couple teaspoons of it into the mix. Wordless Wednesdays: Our Orange thief in action... as most of you know I pick our oranges and mage orange juice two or three times a week. Hence I often see our little orange thieves in action.Personally, I do not mind and enjoy that we are able to share the oranges. Measure ULA also known as the “Mansion Tax” updateJust a quick background to those who are not familiar with the history. Better known as” Mansion Tax” some people called it the “Homelessness and Housing Solution Tax”. The intent was to raise taxes on property sales exceeding $5 million within the City of Los Angeles. The voters approved the Measure ULA in November of 2022. In turn it became a legally binding ordinance on April 1st, 2023. Basically a 4% transfer tax was imposed on property with a value ranging from $5 million to $10 million and a 5.5% transfer tax exceeding $10 million. Fun easy dinner at home: Pasta with seafood and vegies... I have had a few hectic days and wanted to do something easy.The good news is that I had leftover tomato sauce I made a while back. Needless to say, I always have frozen mixed seafood in the freezer. Look what I found in the library on the west side of Los Angeles...Well, I needed a tune-up, an oil change and I decided to go to the library instead of sitting in the waiting room until my car was fixed. Hence, I bought my laptop and continued working.Now interestingly I parked myself in the end of the library and look at where I ended up sitting at.
