With soccer legend Beckham  playing for the LA Galaxies at the Home Depot Center, children throughout Long Beach now have stronger aspirations to become a soccer star.  Heartwell Park is home to two children's soccer leagues - Long Beach Youth Soccer Organization (LBYSO) and American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO).  LBYSO, with its headquarters in Lakewood, uses the fields in and around Heartwell for all its games.  Almost all the schools in the area provide venues both for team practice and games.  It is an exciting time of year as parents restructure their schedules to take their children to and from team practices.  If you have children, soccer is provides excellent cardiovascular exercise. It teaches teamwork. cooperation, communication and respect for authority.  Team practices s... 07/25/2007

  Almost every day this summer, these two boys can be found walking to the nearby neighborhood driving range.   Their inspiration?  Tiger Woods.
