Lakeside, California's best lake is Lindo Lake, and is one block from my office, Main Street Realty & Loan. One of the best things about going to work is the view I get to see every morning. We have one of the best San Diego County Parks only one block away. Lindo Lake was dedicated as a public park in 1886 The park sits back one block from the main street (which happens to be named Maine Ave) in Lakeside, California. It's the recreational center of our community. It is a wonderful park with a walking trail all the way around the lake. It has a softball field, horseshoe pits, fishing, tennis courts, library and lots of birds. The bird watching alone is entertainment. One of my favorite things to do in our town of Lakeside is go to the local Farmers Market. Fortunately for me one is located right down the street from our real estate office. We have a county park almost smack dab in the middle of Lakeside and that is where they hold the event. Lindo Lake County Park. Located at the corner of Lakeshore and Vine streets.( Check out your location of your local market here http://sdfarmbureau.org/index.php). Farmers' Markets provide venues for farmers to sell directly to consumers and supports small farming operations. It is sponsored locally here by the Farm Bureau of San Diego County. Last week my family and I played golf at Barona Creek Golf Club on the Barona Indian Reservation.  The grounds of the resort, casino and golf club are beautiful and the Barona Band of Mission Indians have sculptures in "round-a-bouts" on the reservation that reflect the tribe's cultural pride.  We are proud of our San Diego Native American communities and Barona is a tribe that has given back to the San Diego community in countless ways.  If you get a chance visit the resort and while there take some time to tour the Barona Cultural Center & Museum with its displays of pottery, reed baskets, arrowheads, paintings and other artifacts dating back thousands of years.  Below are pictures of a few of the sculptures at the resort: 07/11/2010

Barona Creek Golf Club is located on the Barona Indian Reservation and part of the Barona Resort & Casino.   Today was one of those overcast days at the beach, so my husband, daughter & I headed to the Barona Creek Golf Club in East County to play golf.  The Golfweek 2010 Issue awarded Barona Creek Golf Club the #4 position for best courses you can play in California and Golf Digest rates it one of the top five casino courses in the country!  Barona offers five tees to accommodate golfers of all skills and abilities.  It is a beautiful course, fast ultra manicured greens, and while challenging  the terrain and surrounding views make it all worthwhile.  While a warm & sunny July day in Lakeside, the cool ocean breeze coming over the hills from La Jolla made it a wonderful experience! I live in San Diego County. We have the best weather, in my opinion, year round. In East County is a town called Lakeside. This is where I live and work. Once a year this town has a Rodeo and boy do these cowboys know how to throw a party! Reason: 1. April 22- The Lakeside Optimist's start the long weekend off with their Famous BBQ. What I love About Lakeside,CA...Shhhhhh...Don't Tell Anyone About Property in Lakeside CA In 2000 I purchased an investment property in Lakeside CA for a ridiculously low price. Colleagues asked me why I would even think of buying anything in that part of San Diego County. I am not originally from San Diego so I think I possess "eyes for investments” that perhaps locals may not have. The rural feel of the area appealed to me since it was only 30-40 minutes from downtown, and best of all there were horseback riding ranches, horse farms and riding trails. Now I come from greater Boston, where one cannot affordably have a horse anywhere that is close to the city.
