Ladera Ranch Babysitting Training Class Ladera Ranch's Teen Leadership Council is proud to host the American Red Cross certified Babysitting Class for Ladera Ranch residents 6th grade and above.  The class is offered in two 3.5 hour sessions scheduled for two consecutive Thursdays.  Participants MUST attend both sessions. Ladera Ranch Toys for CHOC Drive The Coble Kids Foundation is holding it's third Annual Toys for CHOC drive until May 4th, 2011.  The past 2 years drive were a great success. The drive supplies young kids in the CHOC hospital with much needed new toys and books. The Coble Kids Foundation was started in memory of Kyle, Emma, and Katie Coble.  The main purpose of the foundation is to benefit The Children's Hospital of Orange County.  CHOC played a large part in the lives of the Cobles over the years and they are continuing the Toys fo Choc drive on the anniversary of the accident whicj took the lives of Kyle, Emma, and Katie.  If you would like to help keep Kyle, Emma, and Katie's memory alive, please drop off a new unwrapped book or toy to Toy Town in Ladera Ranch.  You can also donate t... 05/03/2011

Ladera Ranch Little League Challenger Division Last November I wrote a blog about Ladera Ranch Little League's Challenger Division.  The Challenger Division is a special program designed specifically for children with special needs.  The goal of Challenger Baseball is to give those with physical, social and emotional challenges a chance to play baseball.  Challenger Baseball participants learn the fundamentals of the game, while also experiencing team work and the thrill of being part of the game. CUSD 2011-2012 Calendar The Capistrano Unified School District of Orange County California just approved and released the 2011-2012 school calendar on April 11th, 2011.  Release and approval of the 2011-2012 calendar was delayed due to additional meetings on budget cuts and furlough days.  Please note that the first day of school is on Wednesday September 7th, 2011.  In the past, Tuesday after Labor Day was the customary start day, but with the changes in the budget, the start date has been move back to the Wednesday after Labor Day for the last 2 years.  The last day of school is set for Thursday June 21st, 2012.  This keeping with past years standard of ending on a Thursday. Ladera Ranch - Patrol Services Ladera Ranch is full of amenities like the pools, plunges, parks, and clubhouses.  LARMAC has contracted Castillo Private Patrol to patrol these areas.  So what is the actual role of these patrol cars in Ladera Ranch? Castillo Private Patrol is contracted to provide patrol services solely for LARMAC owned properties.  Once again these areas include, parks, trails, pools, clubhouses, & neighborhood pocket park. Ladera Ranch Skatepark  Ladera Ranch is a community that has many amenities to offer its residents.  One of the highlights is the Ladera Ranch Skatepark located in the village of Terramor.  The park offers open grass areas, skate board bowls, rails and other obstacles.  The Skatepark is for skateboarding, in-line skates, non-motorized scooters and BMX riding only. All other uses are prohibited.  All park users must wear commercially manufactured safety gear, which includes helmet, elbow and kneepads with plastic caps. There is no charge for Ladera Ranch residents to use the park.  Users must pay a $5 registration and card fee that is good for 12 months.
