Fun Times at Fletcher Hills Elementary   I attended FletcherHillsElementary School back in the early 60’s, and have nothing but fond memories of the experience.  All the girls wore dresses, and the boys were mainly polite.  We had actual P.E., art, and music classes and the cafeteria served up warm food everyday.  Dr. Marks was principal and Miss Asbury was my favorite teacher.   Well, today FletcherHillsElementary School is still providing a great education to nearly 600 kids in grades 1 – 5.  The school is one of the highest ranking in the La MesaSpring ValleySchool District and has received great reviews from many parents.  There is also a great community pool and after-school recreation center that wasn’t yet built when I was a student there.   Yesterday the kids got to enjoy a bike... 06/09/2012

  A Look Back at Fletcher Hills         I first moved to Fletcher Hills with my family back in 1960 (yes, I am that old).  The small community is at the edge of El Cajon, bordered by La Mesa to the south and San Diego to the west and is characterized by custom homes on good sized lots.  My parents bought a 3/2 ranch home on a view lot for $32,000.  I remember that the mortgage payment was $100 a month.
