I was called out to do a 203k in Corte Madera years ago. It was on "Boardwalk" and it didn't say Street, Avenue, or Road and I don't remember it being on the map, but eventually I did find it.  It was an actual board walk... might have been a pier at one point and they were boats that had the water eventually fill with silt and dirt, and suddenly I'm looking a the house I was there to see. I'll have to go over there and see if I can find it for a photo op. It was the strangest request for an FHA 203k loan I had ever seen. Of course it couldn't happen. We are not in the boat rebuilding industry... LOL.  All the houses on this "Boardwalk" were boats that weren't floating any longer. Very interesting to see. Safeway or the Highway!   This is probably not news to many, but I noticed recently that local Safeway stores have begun charging customers for bags at checkout.  Just like check-in at the airport, you are now required to input how many bags you'll need, and you are charged accordingly.  All I can say is, "It's about time!"   When I look back at my childhood (in the '70's) I can certainly note the vast progress that has been made in awareness and resourcefulness when it comes to re-use and recycling.  There is still so much more that can be accomplished.  Do you remember the days when people would just throw bottles and cans in the trash?  Now, when I see that happen I almost wince in pain.  How about those first plastic shopping bags --- the ones as thick as the paper bags?  Now they'...
