The view from the roof  of the Coronado Navy Lodgee ----a sweeping vista from Point Loma south to Mexico would be a bargain at double the price. The Navy has refurbished the 42 year-old beach front lodge and expanded it to 305 rooms, making it the largest Navy Lodge property in the world. For $40 million, the Navy demolished 90 rooms built in 1969 and added 205 nautical-themed rooms. It transforms the North Island Naval Air Station property from middle of the road Holiday Inn experience into a destination hotel. The views offered there are probably rivaled by only a few properties up the California coast. New Years Day Ice Skating At The Beach The location was the Hotel Del Coronado on Coronado Island and the temperature was about 70 degrees. Did I mention that was temperature in the shade. In the sun it was down right hot!  You can see the affect the sun was having on the surface of the ice in the great reflection of the hotel on the surface. Hotel del Coronado is No.10 on TripAdvisor's top 10 haunted hotels, located in Coronado, California. Kate Morgan who apparently committed suicide by shooting herself outside her room in 1892 --- is reportedly haunting the Hotel del Coronado. Her ghost is said to haunt this seaside resort Kate Morgan. Kate was a young woman who checked into the hotel over Thanksgiving weekend under an alias, stayed a few nights, and killed herself on the steps of the hotel leading to the ocean. The room with the most paranormal activities is #3327, very hard to reserve because of it popularity. I like football and while I might have enjoyed the game, I decided a week ago to NOT go to the chargers game so my husband could have a little Bro time with Andrew, his baby brother.  I stayed at the softball field with my nieces when my husband left me and the GPS to "find my way" back to his mom's house.  I had called Russel to let him know I would be out his way a few days before so I gave him a call and he was super sweet.  First he did not just have me meet him somewhere that I would have to find in San Diego, he drove down to Chula Vista with curb service and picked me up right at the door.  And a few hours later that is right where they dropped me off too.
