For 10 years I lived in Carmel Valley..almost to the Carmel Valley Village. I loved the relaxing drive home. The beauty is breath-taking. Some people would complain that they didn't want to live so far..well it's not that far and so worth it. The sun is always shining and air really does smell good. As a kid I spent almost every summer in the "valley" My aunt lived there and had a swimming pool. Her house was the most popular. Loved to swim and play everyday. Although I now live at Las Palmas Ranch..I have very fond memories of Carmel Valley. I still drive Carmel Valley Road to get home and it is still as beautiful as ever. It really hasn't changed.   If you want sun then Carmel Valley is the place for you. The coastal fog seems to burn off much faster with temperatures usually much warmer than other areas on the Peninsula. Carmel Valley has more to offer than just the sun, the lots are generally larger and you have more privacy. The village is much more laid back and people seem to be more casual than in town. There are still plenty of great restaurants, not to mention that Carmel Valley offers many local wineries, and unique shops.
