Cardiff By The Sea, California Selects Name For Sports Park. A long awaited 44-acre sports park in Cardiff will be called Encinitas Community Park. The park has been commonly referred to as the Hall property, named for its former owner, Robert Hall. The proposed park planned for more than a decade will consist of baseball and soccer fields, and aquatic center and a skating center. The property is just west of Interstate 5 and south of Santa Fe Drive. The project has been challenged in court twice over the past 10 years, clearing both hurdles. A contest was held by the City Council and Parks and Recreation for naming the property. The Royal Wedding in Cardiff: Cardiff, California, That Is Cardiff was in a celebratory mood yesterday, as were millions around the world, who watched the Royal Wedding yesterday, and again and again on the Internet and TV. Cardiff had its own celebration in honor of the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Ms. Catherine Middleton. The famous, and somewhat controversial Surfing Statue got all dressed up for the occasion, complete with crown, train and bouquet. The wedding dress was stunning, although perhaps not as beautiful as the Bride's.
