Are You Celebrating the Royal Wedding? Perhaps "celebrating" is overboard. Let me rephrase that.  Are you going to watch the Royal Wedding, either live (gad, 5 am EST!!) or via recording? The Cardiff Kook, the famed surfing statue on the Coast Road/Coast Highway/Route 101 in Carlsbad may be celebrating this Royal Wedding but I didn't have a chance to get by and see.  The statue is dressed up by locals for all sorts of occasions year-round - holidays, special occasions, and so on. It's always fun to see the creativity. You can enjoy all the outfits on the Kook's very own website. That said, here's Kooky celebrating the Royal Wedding way back in 2011, just in case no wedding finery is to be found n the Kook in 2018 tomorrow! We don't want to outdo Meghan and Harry, do we?  Or DO we?

Do you have anyone helping you with the down payment or to qualify for the loan?  Remember to tell your real estate agent right up front that you will need to include these decision-makers in the process. If you are a family of one (in other words, a sigle person) and you are purchasing solo, get advice and input from someone you trust.  For example, your mom, your dad, your brother, your sister, or your best friend.  Remember that while these folks are giving you advice, they do not have any legal obligations and your loan will be 100% in your name. YOU are the only final decision-maker.Now, let’s talk about your teenagers.  It’s important to get their support and commitment before the purchase of the home.  Although they will not be co-signing on the loan, it is critical to have their ...

When you think about adding some new touches to your house, consider simple things such as: LIGHTING. In key areas of your house, whether they’re dark corners or not, think about indirect lighting that sets a nice mood and can give you lots of brightness when you need it. CEILING FANS. Ceiling fans add both a good look and increase air flow. Remember that a ceiling fan can be used to circulate cool air and to move warm air down into the room since heat rises. ADDITIONAL STORAGE. Most families always need more storage.  You can purchase or build inexpensive and attractive shelves and cabinets for laundry room, kitchen, or garage.  Do-it-yourself bedroom closet organizers are very popular. MIRRORS. Mirrors add a sense of large space to an area. Consider adding a full-length mirror to your...

New Pinned Items on Pinterest Impressive kitchen counters, top-of-the-line appliances, and upscale dining room features. As featured in the ebook, "Learn the Lingo of Houses" by Regina P. Brown.       A kitchen peninsula is often combined with L-shaped counters. In-sink dishwasher is usually used for small spaces such as a kitchenette. Stone sink has a beautiful custom carved designed; elegant but expensive. An appliance garage is a great way of keeping counters clean and neat by hiding small appliances.  Find an appliance garage hiding behind a wooden sliding door that matches the counters, or a shiny metal roll-up door.  They are most efficient when located near electric outlets for convenient appliance use.

According to author William Franklin, people don’t succeed because they do things right – they succeed because they do the right things.Determine the importance of each task and work on the most important first.  Don’t just do whatever comes along but rather ask what’s the best use of your time right now.  Successful lives are built on successful days doing the right things (what is most important to you).

Better-than-expected unemployment figures led to a pretty tough day for mortgage rates on Thursday with nearly the entire day spent in negative territory.  The day saw the majority of Lenders throughout the country post mid-day pricing adjustments to their rate sheets to reflect the market deterioration. The net result was a worsening of 30 basis points.  We began today with a drop of an additional 21 basis points, but appear to be heading in the right direction as this update is being published. This daily mortgage interest rate report is provided to equip Borrowers & Real Estate Profesionals with factual data regarding where rates are at any given time and what trends are propelling current mortgage pricing on any given day. Many homeowners are getting into the Halloween holiday spirits these days in our area - no doubt they are in yours as well. I was touring some homes along the coast today and spied this cool oceanview house that I have admired since it was built. I HAD to stop and look.I thought it was pretty tastefully done and in keeping with the style. You can't really see the inside in the phoyo but I could and it's all decked out for Halloween. The owner was on the deck so I asked if I could take some photos to share - she said, sure, as long as she wasn't in them. I'm on the look-out for more real estate dressed up for Halloween. You?
