As one navigates to the west, the city sidewalks and city street lights become normal features of Camarillo Heights. This area is the part of the Heights that has been incorporated into the city and it is the Camarillo City Planner that the homeowner needs to contact for any remodeling or additions to their home. These Camarillo Homes Are served by the Pleasant Valley School District.  Mission Oaks is the name given by developer Pardee Homes to a 1,312 acre (2.05 sq mile) parcel of land located in the north-eastern portion of the city of Camarillo. This parcel was developed as a planned community over the span of 35 years, and completed in October of 2004. The area developed by Pardee Homes makes up approximately 15% of Camarillo's total land. Due to the decades-long timescale of the project, many residents are unaware Mission Oaks' proprietary nature, and the area east of Lewis Road (California State Route 34), south of Somis and north of the 101 Freeway is generally thought of as Mission Oaks regardless of which company built the buildings in the area.  This area is served by the Pleasant Valley School District. The schools in this area of Camarillo are:LA MARIPOSA...

I was born in a different country. When I came to the United States at the age of eighteen to further my education, to me my place of birth was still home. 3½ years later I met the most amazing man and fell in love with him. He was born and raised in California, and most of his family still resides in Ventura County, CA.We were fortunate to buy our first house in the beautiful and peaceful city of Camarillo, Ventura County. This way we could be close to the rest of my husband's family. When I had my first child I really wanted to take her to "MY Home". All of this time, I felt like I was living at my husband's home and it was time that we had a change of scenery. So, we spent a month at my home town. Towards the end of our stay I could not wait to get back to "Our Home". I was a fool. M...

Camarillo is in a wonderful setting on the Pacific coastal plain, surrounded by picturesque mountains and hills and highly productive agricultural land, and is only 15 minutes from the Pacific Ocean. Camarillo is named for Adolfo Camarillo, one of the few Californios (pre-1851 California natives of Spanish ancestry) to retain his holdings after the arrival of Anglo settlers. The town of Camarillo was incorporated into a city in 1964. Since then the city has grown significantly. The City of Camarillo is only 45 minutes from Santa Barbara to the north and Los Angeles to the south. The Ventura or L.A beaches are only a few minutes a way and in the winter for the snow lovers Mountain High is only an 1 ½ drive.    Camarillo has grown significantly since the day it was incorporated. There are...

Thank You Camarillo Parents The fight to keep Camarillo neighborhood schools open reached its climax in the month of March. It was in this month that I joined a group of determined parents who were not going to let our school district change what we had set up for our children. It is remarkable what human determination and strength can achieve. A force of parents with different educational backgrounds, trades, and skills is not to be taken lightly by anyone. And it was our hard work and persistence that directed the school district to look into alternative ways of achieving their agenda. And it was this same group of dedicated parents that encouraged the school district to look into keeping our neighborhood school, Camarillo Heights, open for another year and we hope many more years to com...
