  While residents of Camarillo get ready to vote on Measure U in November 4, 2008, both Pleasant Valley School District (PVSD) and Oxnard Unified High School District (OUHSD) continue their spending on their lengthy legal battle. Payment records from the PVSD and OUHSD show that both districts have spent more than $411,000 in legal fees related to the unification issue.  The PVSD has outspent OUHSD by paying $273,034 to their attorneys in the last 18 months.  This all happens while school budgets are being slashed and programs are being canceled in the district. Camarillo Art & Jazz Festival On Saturday September 13, 2008 the Camarillo Art & Jazz Festival will take place in Old Town Camarillo, Dizdar Park, and the Camarillo Farmer's Market Area. Camarillo Free Parenting Workshop As I sat through the 2008-2009 Monte Vista Middle School orientation this summer with two hundred-something other parents, some of us realized that the reality we have been dreading all summer long was finally here. Our elementary school children are about to enter a much larger school and carry the label "preteen" no matter how hard we try to keep them close to the nest.
