   Prairie Valley Road and Rosedale Avenue Progress Report SCHEDULE IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE During the weeks of October 18th to November 1st   Prairie Valley Road West Much of the curb has been placed with the exception of the centre of the roundabout and some small areas. Sidewalks area being poured and construction on the island planter retaining wall in the centre of the new roundabout has begun. The curb for centre of the roundabout will be installed in the next week. This installation along with the laying of the paving stones in the roundabout will require much traffic control and slowing for the safety of the crews. Thank you Summerland for helping us find our friend’s dog - Doodle.   We had agreed to dog sit a little dog while friends went on holidays only to have it dart away from us and our home.  We spent hours searching our neighborhoods.  Hours turned into days and days turned into weeks.  We had tremendous support from everyone from Rose at Dog Control to supportive neighbors that drove for hours calling and looking for Doodle. Three weeks plus a day the owners had camped out in the area Doodle was spotted this past Friday and on Thanksgiving Doodle came to them in their travel trailer.  We had tried everything and nobody was able to get close to Doodle but as fate would have it Doodle was reunited  to her family a lot lighter and hungry BUT very happy. We had a slow start to the season but July has made up for that! Our July stats (every person who walks through our doors) show an increase of 24.9% over July 2009. That is incredible. Summerland BC's heart is broken with the tragic loss of Bela (Anabela) Blystone and her mom. This past week has been hard as we try to absorb what happened last week to Bela and her mom.  Janice and I met Bela when we first moved to Summerland over 15 years ago and we instantly loved her because of her enthusiasm for life, which always gave her face a SMILE.
