Happy Victoria Day!  Celebration at the Burnaby Village Museum Today is May 23rd, Victoria Day, a day to celebrate Queen Victoria's birthday.  What better way than to head down to the Burnaby Village Museum, a recreation of a turn-of-the-century village.  Today, the village was festooned with union jacks, in honour of Queen Victoria and our British heritage.  The streets were alive with Morris Dancers, Mapole Dancers, and the Seymour Artillery in full regalia.  I hope you enjoy some photos of today's events.  Just a reminder that admission to the Village Museum is free for all of 2011, in celebration of the Museum's 40th birthday. Heritage Home Arts & Crafts Home Staging-Before & After Photos Our Vancouver, B.C. home staging company, Exit Stage Right, was called in to home stage this charming arts & crafts bungalow, built in 1914.  The home had beautiful bones, with wonderful, refinished wainscoting, lots of built-ins and nooks and crannies.  However, the house just needed a little icing on the cake.  With all the woodwork, the home seemed a little dark and stark.  We brought in some softness with flowers, lightened up the dark wood by adding light coloured cushions, brought in a bit of spring with a cream and bright green colour combination, and added glamour and bling with shiny accessories, such as mercury glass vases.
