I want to wish everyone a happy Labor Day! I hope you’ve had the opportunity to spend some time with friends and family, away from the rush of work or the concerns of money, and really enjoy the important things in life. Whether you're treating yourself to some fun with friends and family, or using your free time to do home projects, I hope you're capitalizing on this national holiday! I'll definitely be doing some cooking today and hopefully getting some long-overdue projects done. Cheers! Have a good one. Action>>> Back in my 20's I had grand ideas that I thought could change the world but those ideas never made the leap into action — and it was probably a good thing they stayed ideas. I’ve always been a “thinker” and it’s too bad I didn’t have a great mind. When I was in my 30's I began making the transition from thoughts to actions — or, rather, I began putting my thoughts into action — But becoming is different than thinking about it. My wife taught me a lot about becoming the other. When I thought of leaving a 15 year career to go into real estate, I was terrified of failing and went into my theorizing phase, thinking it to death. She believed in me and said she knew I would succeed and with her support, I made the leap. I was always wondering - How does she make the tough decisions ...

Doreen McPherson commented on one of my posts, saying that the twilight photo looked "painterly."  That's the photo above.  I call it "Nightfall in Tucson Estates II."  I'm not an artist, but my family has a few who are.  My dad, my sister, my cousin, two neices and my late grandfather all are (were) artists, and Doreen's comment struck a chord. Yesterday I drove down to Sierra Vista with a client from Minnesota to look at some manufactured homes I have on a liquidation list.  On the way back to Tucson, I took a photo of this granite escarpment on the west side of State Highway 90.  I love the formation, and the late afternoon sun painted it with a sense of old west drama.  Can't you imagine Apaches looking down from the high cliffs? The word "painterly" came to mind again when I downlo...

Why Sierra Vista Realty?   If you are moving to the Sierra Vista area from another area of the country you may not have heard of the company I work for Sierra Vista Realty.  Most of the time prospective clients have heard of Remax, Century 21, and ERA, but not Sierra Vista Realty.  My clients come from all over the US and ask me, "Why did you choose to work for Sierra Vista Realty?"  I say, "I wouldn't even think of working for any other real estate company in Sierra Vista and I think you'll see why once we view a view properties".  Here is the way I see it-there is power in knowledge and Sierra Vista Realty been in business in Sierra Vista longer than any other real estate company, franchised or not. Since 1968 Sierra Vista Realty has been a part of this community as it has grown, and ...

Are designations important? I just finished the e-Pro program and thought is was helpful and I learned some great things. I think education on a continuing basis is necessary for professional growth..... but do designations actually help you in the field? Do our clients know or care about designations? What are you doing to benefit from your designations?   Can you have too many designations? I have seen some agents' business cards look like alphabet soup. How do you let customers know that you have achieved a level of knowledge, experience, or training that others may not have?  Can they show your dedication to learning, advancing your career, and bettering yourself? If they are important, which ones are the best ones to have???? ABR ' Accredited Buyer Representative ASR ' Accredited ...
