Camp Verde, AZ - Montezuma's Castle got its name from early settlers in the area.  They thought that this was built by Montezuma (the Aztec mythical hero).  In fact, it was built by the Sinagua between 1100 to 1350 A.D. By 1425 A.D., the Sinagua were gone.  They were hunters and farmers.  Modern theory is they left because the natural resources became depleted.  Verde Valley residents normally think of Montezuma's Castle when cliff dwelling is mentioned. Throwback ThursdayI decided to go to my Stats page and sort posts by the number of views.  I was surprised to see the post below garner 11,182 views.  I decided to do some "Throwback Thursday" posts from years ago.  I chose this as my first one to feature. I am currently in California, providing Feng Shui consultations for clientele in the region. During the Columbus Day weekend, I made a stop over in Sedona, Arizona. The last time I visited this part of the country was back in 2013. Sedona Red Rocks is one one of my favorite places on Earth. Besides being engulfed in the amazing energy field, with each visit it offers an opportunity to give thanks to the origins of how this company came to be.In 1996, the birth of an idea called, 'Feng Shui Long Island' was created by Carole Provenzale during a visit to the Red Rocks in Sedona, AZ. In 1997, that vision became a reality and in 2000, 'Feng Shui Manhattan' was established as the daughter company. Today, these two companies have merged to become one with Feng Shui Manhattan being pulled to t...

Today was a long day of hiking for my wife and I, what a great opportunity to see some great sites. Though the Sedona, AZ is dry and on the hot side, today we hiked along a creek for part of the day. The creek provides water for some full size tree growth, shade, and cooler temperatures. It was a blessing to hear the roaring water flow after getting off the big rocks.     On Thursday, we will be heading for that big hole in the ground up north - the Grand Canyon. There we will see the true power of water over time.   Better get some rest!

Red Rock Loop Road, for the most part, is paved but there is still a section that is gravel. It can be easily navigated by most any car. The owners of Bella Terra (BySnergy), a controversial "green" residential development in Sedona have asked the bank to postpone the foreclosure in order to allow them to work on a suitable plan.  Bella Terra was planned to be sold at Auction last Friday, April 18th.  The Auction has been rescheduled for May 2nd.  According to the Notice of Trustee Sale, the original balance on the note was $13M.  According to County Records BySnergy (Bella Terra) bought the property for $4.7M in 2002.Bysnergy has endured nany delays in its construction and fights with local environmrntalists.  The permit had allowed the subdivision to operate a wastewater treatment plant near Oak Creek

The decision to purchase a true cabin in one of the most scenic, possibly sacred, definitely sought-after place to visit on the planet began a now nearly comprehensive educations and loves I share with a whole lot of you. My husband and I saw this "rustic" cabin, built in 1960 and used by the family who built it until we bought it on our first showing in July 1998. We have enjoyed owning, renovating and renting it, and dealt with numerous frustrations along the way. Meanwhile, I have marketed and sold ev...
