NOW RENTED!   There are many homes for rent and for sale in Mesa del Caballo, near Payson, AZ. Mesa del (for short) is a subdivision a little over 2 miles from Payson. To reach the subdivision go North on Beeline Hwy (Hwy 87- the primary street in Payson) to the North edge of town. Go through the roundabout (if you've never driven one of these it IS interesting) and then turn right on Houston Mesa Rd. About 2 miles out the road forks, with Mesa del to the left. View Mesa del Caballo in a larger map   The subdivision is partly surrounded by Tonto National Forest, and from many homes on the edges of the subdivision one can just walk right out into the Forest.  Parts of Mesa del have gorgeous views of the Mogollan Rim- this photo is the view from a home which we have currently for rent.  T...

Hi from Payson, AZ. We just took a listing in Mesa del, and I thought I would post about the neighborhood.    Mesa del (as the locals call it) is a subdivision about 2 1/2 miles NE of Payson. One turns East on Houston Mesa Rd. at the North end of Payson, just past the infamous traffic roundabout that went in awhile back. The views on the way are some of the prettiest in Rim Country. The subdivision has everything from old single-wide mobiles to nice, large site-built homes. The nicer homes tend to be around the edges of the subdivision, and many of them back to National Forest and have gorgeous views.   Mesa del Caballo means Horse Mesa, and there are many horses (and a few llamas) in Mesa del. The way I understand it, one horse is allowed per lot, so you could actually have your own ca...

Just listed: A site-built house on a large lot in Mesa del Caballo subdivision (about 2 1/2 miles from Payson). At .22 acre, there is room for a garden, a garage, toys, or what-have-you. The Owner has fruit trees, berry bushes, and perennial flowers, with chainlink and wire fencing to keep out the "critters". This would make a great full-time residence, a wonderful "week-ender" to get out of the Phoenix heat, or would make a sound investment (renting for $700 to $800). The sun porch goes all across the front of the house. With the windows wide it catches all the cool evening breezes, and in winter the sun shining in helps to warm the living room. The house is a cheery sky blue, and inside it is warm and inviting. Take the tour!
