Gilbert, AZ Real Estate News

You can't leaf through business weeklies without finding a list proclaiming which city or state has the best this-or-that. So I often take such information with a grain of salt. However, I *am* quite pleased that Business Week came out with their list of "best places to raise your kids" ... mainly because, of the 52 cities studied, Gilbert Arizona came in high on the list. I know. Everyone has an opinion of which town is best. Very often the place of our youth ranks very high in our own list. Since I happen to have lived in Gilbert as a younger guy I think their information is top-notch. :-) I can attest that the quality of schools, the look of the country with access to the city, and the small town friendliness is tough to beat. It's just that kind of place. Looking to make Gilbert yo...

Business week published a list of the best places to raise your kids and I'm proud to say Gilbert, Arizona made the list!!  They went state by state and only towns with over 50,000 people and a median family income of 40-100,000 qualified.  They looked at things like school performance, crime rate, museums, etc.  They relied most heavily on school performance and safety.   Yea Gilbert!!!!  Population: 152,529 Median household income: $89,031 Our fast-growing town of Gilbert has a skate park, a movie theater, and Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch, which draws 200 species of birds just to name a few of the perks about raising a family in Gilbert! Some of the other towns making the cut?? Anchorage, Alaska, Huntsville, Alabama.  To read the full story, click here.

BusinessWeek named Gilbert as the best place to raise your kids in Arizona!  In it's second annual report, BusinessWeek selected towns with at least 50,000 residents and a median family income between $40,000 and $100,000.  They narrowed the list of towns using weighted criteria, such as: school performance; number of schools; household expenditures; crime rates; air quality; job growth; family income; museums, parks, theaters, and other amenities; and diversity.  Because this report was looking for the best place to raise kids, BusinessWeek weighted school performance and safety most heavily, but also gave strong weight to amenities and affordability. According to the survey, the population of Gilbert is 152,529.  The median household income is $89,031.  The town continues to grow at a...

I have a confession.  There is a fiction author out there that writes these cute little books, all centered around these wonderful (fictional) small Americana-type towns.  The plots are cheesy, the characters predictable, and yet I keep coming back for more.  I think it's because I am so drawn to small towns, good neighbors, places where people look out for one another.  Gilbert Arizona is not really a small town, by any means.  At last count, over 200,000 people reside in this suburb of Phoenix.  But once a year, we get to be reminded that not too long ago, Gilbert was a small, farming community of friends. November 8-23 is the annual Gilbert Days celebration, a week-long series of events and activities that pay tribute to Gilbert's western heritage.  The parade commemorates the origin...

This Saturday, November 8, from 5 to 8 pm, the town of Gilbert Arizona will celebrate its past.  Gilbert is an "old" town for Arizona, dating back to the 1800s.  In the 1920s, when the great majority of Arizona was still empty, Gilbert built a tall water tower for a reliable source of water for fighting fires. The structure was recently repainted, showing off the town name to welcome visitors to the historic Heritage District.  Lights will illuminate the tower and make it visible for miles.  What a great landmark for us! The Water Tower Park has been planned as a place for families to gather and enjoy.  There will be several water fountains, including one that shoots streams of water in the air, all of which will be lighted at night.  The most interesting feature might be the granite ba...

Managing Your Time as a Professional I wanted to share a bit about how I have learned to manage my time. Not that I am the expert or anything, but I have learned a few things throughout the years.  I used to be all over the place in answering calls and email, etc. at any time of day. For some people, that works. But, I have to say that tired me out quite a bit and got me frazzled. I have always taken off Sundays and reserved it for church and family time. And, I like to enjoy Saturdays with my family when I am not showing buyers homes for sale. I find that I am re-energized for the week when I do something different than work.  Now, on to what I really want to share with you......Training your clients! Clients need to know that you run a business, and that you are not primarily availabl...

Hello Everyone!  This is my very first post on Active Rain, or on any other blog for that matter.  I am a Real Estate Professional serving the East Valley area of Metropolitan Phoenix. I particularly work in the town of Gilbert. But, I also work in the cities Mesa, Chandler, Queen Creek, Apache Junction and Tempe.  I only practice Residential Real Estate. I refer commercial business to my Realtor friends that specialize in that area. I know what I am good at and what I am not good at.  I have been practicing Real Estate since 1995. In 2006, I created Top Rock Realty, my own Real Estate Brokerage Firm. I am also the Designated Broker of Top Rock Realty.  I very much enjoy helping people buy and sell real estate. I focus on customer service and retention. And, referrals aren't too bad eit...

I thought it would be a nice day out for my daughter and I to browse the San Tan Village shops in Gilbert.  I should have taken into consideration this is not your typical refrigerated mall.  It was hot the day we started our trek. Something like 112 degrees...in the shade. I was excited at the prospect of a "downtown" shopping experience.  When I was growing up in Waukegan, Illinois, downtown was the only place to shop.  But, I don't think it was ever 112 degrees (in the shade) in Waukegan. San Tan Village disappointed me.  Just a bunch of stores strung together.  Not much in the way of ambiance at the street either.    Read More

In this 10 minute section of an interview conducted by Mike Dillard with Robert Kiyosaki on October 9, 2008, Robert explains that the United States economic recession is only going to get worse and what you can do to prepare. If you are concerned about your financial future I highly recommend sitting in a quiet area and listening intently to this interview with Robert Kiyosaki. One thing that Robert mentions is that job security is a myth and that people need to start looking for other streams of income. Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki both recommend getting started in network marketing. Robert explains that it will only get better for those who take action now and get started.
