GILBERT CHANDLER COMMUNITY COLLEGE JAZZ CONCERT The CGCC is located just across the border of Gilbert in Chandler, and it is attended by both Gilbert and Chandler students. They have an excellent jazz music program there which teaches small jazz ensemble, jazz vocal, and big band jazz. These programs help the jazz music students become more proficient in improvising, performing with small ensembles, and improving skills in music sight reading with the big band ensemble.   DID THE GILBERT AZ AND PHOENIX REAL ESTATE MARKET OVER CORRECT? The Val Vista Lakes and Gilbert Homes AZ areas are affected about the same as the overall Phoenix market. The chart below is a Case Schiller Index chart for the Phoenix Metropolitan area, which includes the east valley town of Gilbert, plus Mesa, Chandler, Tempe and Scottsdale.   The chart draws a trend line from 1988, the dashed line ------ and the solid line is from 2001. That is a continuation of what would be considered the normal trend. During 2005 the Phoenix market ballooned as the chart shows, to very high prices that were not sustainable. GILBERT AZ, A WONDERFUL PLACE TO LIVE   Gilbert, which is located in the southeast valley of the Phoenix Metropolitan area was originally an agriculture based town over 90 years ago. It was known as the Hay Capital of the World. Today there is still some hay around and is utilized to feed the dairy cows in the few remaining dairies,mostly in the southern section of Gilbert.
