Okay I need a little help here.  For you Mac users, I just bought a MacBook Air and I’m loving it.  My issue is that I now use Pages to write my blogs with.  I did use Word but I want to get away from Microsoft.  Anyway, Pages does not pick up a lot of my grammar issues as well as when to use a , ! or much of anything else.  So help a guy out and tell me what I need to use, where to find it, or do I need to go back to Word?

Walter Hunt was born in Martinsburg, New York back in 1796. I could not find anything about his early childhood, schooling, parents and so on however, what I can tell you is the rest of the story.He was a prolific inventor, most of his inventions were never patented. Sad thing is most of his inventions (with some modifications) are still in use to this day. He did sell one of his ideas to the W R Grace and Company for $400.00 so he could pay off a debt for $15.00. I’m sure if he had to do it over again things would be different, as I’m sure he would have been a wealthy man.Anyway, let me tell you about some of his inventions if I may. Paul Ehrlich was born in Strehlen, German Kingdom of Prussia back in 1854 to Ismar and Rosa. After elementary school, he attended the Maria-Magdalenen-Gymnasium in Breslau. He studied medicine at several universities obtaining his doctorate in 1882.Completing his clinical education, he traveled to Egypt from 1888-89 in part to cure a course of tuberculosis. When he returned, he opened a private practice in Berlin-Steglitz. In 1909, he discovered something that will forever put him in the history books for (more on that later). Elmer Ambrose was born in Cincinnatus, New York back in 1860 to Stephen and Mary. His mother died the next day due to complications of his birth. He attended the state normal school in Cortland and a year at Cornell.He moved to Chicago in 1880 where he started his first business. He was the first person to drive an American-made car in Paris in 1896. In 1900, he opened his second business in Washington D.C. His second business concentrated on make caustic soda, while development of the process he discovered a process for recovering tin from scrap metal.In 1910, he started his third business and it won him the Franklin Institute Medal, the John Fritz Medal and the Elliott Cresson Medal. Carl Shipp was born in Waynesville, Illinois back in 1894 to John and Mary. He attended Illinois Wesleyan University on the encouragement from an uncle. He graduated with an A.B. in chemistry.Alfred Homberger recommended he obtain a scholarship to the University of Illinois which he did for a whopping $250.00 (if it was still only that cost). Having to catch up with the rest of the class he got the nickname of “Speed” due to him staying up late to study and rushing to breakfast. James William was born near Winchester, Virginia back in 1817. His family moved to Wilmington, Ohio in 1830. You could find him teaching school in Missouri in 1841. In 1844, he graduated from the University of Cincinnati school of law. The next year he was admitted to the bar and moved to Xenia Ohio.In 1847 while the Mexican-American War was going on he was recruited to the 12th, U.S. Volunteer Infantry. Egbert Benson was born in New York City back in 1746 to Robert and Catherine.  At an early age his grandmother taught him the Dutch language.  He attended an English Classical school and attended King’s College graduating in 1765.  He was admitted to the bar and moved to Red Hook where he practiced law. Edward was born in Wadena, Minnesota back in 1904 to Frank and Ethel.  His parents divorced when he was a child afterwards his mother raised him in Saskatchewan, Canada.  After graduating from high school, he continued his education at the University of California, Berkeley and then Yale, where he obtained a degree in industrial engineering.After graduation, he moved to Europe where he worked for Nestle and the Tobler company.  When he returned to the United States and as they say the rest is history.  So, let us cut to the chase. Forrest Lee was born in Lyndonville, New York back in 1923. Sorry I don’t have any other information to add about his upbringing schooling or anything else, that is except for the rest of the story. in 1942 he joined the Army Air Forces during WWII.On one mission to Bremen, Germany assigned as a radio operator in a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress the craft came under fire. He was hit twice by shrapnel from a 20-mm cannon that is after taking the place of an injured gunner. My name is Bond, James Bond. No, that that Bond but another one. So, this James Bond was born in Arlington Illinois in 1923 to Vernon and Mabel. He attended Monmouth College for a brief time and then he entered the United States Naval Academy in 1943.In 1945 he graduated due to the reduced schedule still in effect from World War II. Glen was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta Canada back in 1918.  His family moved to Lincoln, California in 1931.  He graduated from UCLA with a degree in Chemical Engineering enlisting in the US Army Air Force in 1941 just five months prior to Pearl Harbor.I February 1942 he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant at Luke Field, Arizona being assigned to the 86th Light Bombardment Squadron departing for Tunisia in 1942 as a flight commander.  In 1943 he was involved in the battle of Kasserine Pass flying eleven missions in just one day.  During one of those missions his crew set a record by completing a combat mission-from takeoff to landing in just nineteen minutes.  For his crew’s action, they received the Distinguished Unit Citation.  After that he was involved in completing 50 combat miss...

Philip Astley was born in Newcastle, England.  His father was a cabinetmaker, starting out at 9 e apprenticed with his father.  However, cabinet making was not to his liking what he did enjoy was horses.  At 17 he joined the Fifteenth Light Dragoons becoming aa Sergeant Major serving during the Seven Year’s War.  He was noted by the officers as being a brilliant rider.He was exceptional at trick riding in a circle instead of a straight line.  Performing near Westminster Bridge where he opened his riding school from 1770 onwards.  His fame grew as did his wealth.  He died in 1814.Now of course you shall learn the rest of the story.  remember his riding in circles that I mentioned a few ago?  Well that coined the term circus.  From 1770 he started adding clowns, jugglers, tumblers and tig...

Roger Hugh was born in Saugerties, New York back in 1934. Sorry I do not have the name of his parents however, that is about the only thing I won’t be able to tell you about him. So, let us move on, he attended the New York State College of Forestry at Syracuse. In 1953 he joined the United States Air Force and was admitted to west Point in 1955. Samuel Abbot was born in Wilton, New Hampshire back in 1786 to Abiel (sorry don’t have his mother’s name) anyway, he was the 11th of 12 children born to Abiel. Of the 12 only 10 survived to adulthood and all of them were educated at Harvard College.Samuel studied law at Harvard and was admitted to the bar in 1812. He stayed in the Wilton, Dunstable, New Hampshire area until 1817 when he opened his law office inn Ipswich, Massachusetts. Thomas Hudson Jones was born in Buffalo, New York back in 1892. He attended Albright Art School in Buffalo, New York. At 19 he won a competition that gave him a fellowship to the American Academy in Rome however, it was determined that he was too young to go.He worked for Daniel before WWI. He enlisted and after the war he stayed in Rome to collect on his prize. He returned to the United States in 1922 to teach at Columbia University in New York City.   He was so good Rome called him back in 1934 when he returned to Rome to serve as a Professor of Fine Arts at the academy.He designed the ornate 50-foot-high bronze door for the New Library of Brooklyn in Washington, D.C. he also designed the Air Force Academy seal. Salvatore was born in Detroit Michigan back in 1935 to Santo and Zena. The family moved to Inglewood, California when he was 7. He attended Inglewood High School but did not graduate.He married Donna in 1954, they divorced in 1962. He married Cherilyn in 1964, they divorced in 1975, he then married Mary in 1986. He became interested in Scientology however records (that I found) could not verify that he became associated with the religion.He died in 1998 at 62 and is buried at Desert Memorial Park in Cathedral City, California. So, no biggie yet you may be asking. Andrea Giacomo was born in Bergamo, Italy back in 1935. The family emigrated to the United States as a refugee because of the Italian racial laws. Once in the US his parents changed his first name to Andrew James.He attended Boston Latin School and went on to MIT in 1952. He received his BS and MS in Electrical Engineering in 1957. Chesley Burnett was born in Denison, Texas back in 1951 to Chesley and Marjorie. He attended Denison High School and by all accounts was an excellent student. he attended the U.S. Air force Academy getting a Bachelor of Science. That wasn’t enough afterwards he received a Master’s degree in Industrial Psychology from Purdue and another master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Northern Colorado.He served in the United States Air Force flying the T-37 Tweet, the T-38 Talon, the F-4 Phantom II among many others.
