On March 15,2008 we had alot of rain and hail. The hail lasted about 2 minutes but it was coming down hard. I am sure there was alot of damage to peoples homes(roof, gutters, HVAC). I have a insurance adjuster coming out to my home tomorrow to check and see if our roof was damaged. I would rather be safe than sorry in case there is some damage and then 6 months down the road the roof starts leaking then it will be to late to claim it on my insurance. Here is some pictures I took!

Congratulations...my child has been selected to participate in the upcoming Educational Talent Search(ETS)!She wrote a essay on why going to Washington, D.C. could benefit her educationally and culturally, and she was selected from her school(Woodville High) in Jackson County, AL. They chose 30 children from the Jackson County School System, and don't know the exact number from Huntsville, AL.Of course she will have to do fund-raisers to raise the $500 fee to go which this includes her boarding, meals and all activities she will be doing and it will be for a week. This will be a great opportunity for her and I am very proud of her!She will get to see The Capitol, Washington Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, visit some college campuses, baseball game, Six Flags, and many other various activi...

On Saturday night I took my family to the square in downtown Scottsboro, AL for the County Christmas sponsored by K-98 radio station. The kids enjoyed getting to ride in a horse and buggy around the square. There was children singing Christmas carols, and Santa Claus, and of course we had hot chocolate. It was very relaxing, and I spent quality time with my family. I think we all enjoyed the time together, and my husband said "Please" don't hand out business cards! I did carry some with me, but didn't pass any out. Sometimes there is time for work, and play!

I would like to send out a THANK YOU to Karen Stone from Fort Worth, TX. I am fairly new to AR, and I have been trying to learn all the in's and out's of the blogging world. When I got my real estate license nobody told me that I needed to be computer oriented and know what I needed to do to be found on the top page of Google.I didn't know that I needed to join some groups to get my posts read, and commented on. Thanks, to Karen she sent me a email, and called me on the phone. This meant alot to me to have someone to offer to help me, and not expect me to pay them for information. I enjoy helping people also, and I am glad that we spoke on the phone, and I look forward to speaking with her again. There is probably alot of people that are members of AR that don't know all the in's and ...

Is it true? For months how the media has been talking about how bad the economy is, and now I heard on the radio this morning it is gonna get worse! Yes, "Oh the economy was good, yesterday, but it looks like it's going to be so bad tomorrow.   First of all, slow growth is growth, nonetheless. Secondly, I would like to object to the use of the phrase "all the way down".This is a phrase that sounds like the economy is going to come to a screeching halt. I think we need to not think that "The Sky is Falling",and not make the bad economy sound like a foregone conclusion.

Yesterday I wrote a offer on a property, and this morning I got up and went to my hairdresser, and to have some ME tim While I was sitting in the chair this morning my client calls and tells me they want to withdraw their offer.WHAT? While I was on the phone with my client I get a beep, and it was the other REALTOR to let me know the sellers accepted the offer. By this time my hairdresser is getting frustrated with me because I have the phone glued to my ear. I called my Broker to find out what I needed to do, and I had to end up leaving the salon with my hair wet to go to a fax machine and fax a addendum stating my clients wanted to withdraw their offer. My clients did withdraw their offer, but my day of relaxtion did not happen. Some days I wished other people could walk in my shoes, a...

Today my office had a mandatory meeting to "Get Ready" for 2008. It was to see if we where we wanted to be at in our business, and if we would like to do more. It was very eye opening, and I want to get my goals in place, and stick with them. I want more business so I have got to get my goals straight, and have a plan in place. We played "Weichert" Bingo on getting to know you. This was fun and you had to walk around the room and ask other REALTOR'S  different items that was on the card...who is married, not married, who owns cats? Just a few examples. We played many games, won prizes, and had good time interacting with other REALTOR'S in my office. How many of you do anything like this in your office? It really gets you motivated, and have alot of energy!

Today is a day for being thankful for our families, and enjoying all the good food, watching football games, and becoming real tired from all the running around we do. I will need to get  of rest tonight for tomorrow on Black Friday. I am not really going to buy anything in particular I just like going. It is a tradition for me to go every year. My kids are older now so I don't have to try and fight the crowd for the toys.My husband thinks I am crazy, but I think he is crazy getting up at 3:30 a.m. to go sit in a tree stand to hunt deer. I guess it is a addiction for me.Does anybody else enjoy going on Black Friday? We Have So Much To Be Thankful For...Take time today and give thanks for our friends, family, loved ones and the young men and women overseas who cannot be with us today o...

Well, I would like to start off saying that I am a REALTOR and this is my job, and I don't do this for my health. I guess most people just think we don't do anything at all. I got a call this morning a FSBO wanted me to come talk to her about listing her property, I was getting everything ready to go to be able to present a listing presentation, and then the phone rings and she says she is going to list with another company and if I had a buyer to call that company. WHAT!!! Oh no! It is a good thing that I have a focused mind, and can tell myself to stay motivated. It seems like nothing is going right for me, and everything is falling throught the cracks. I guess since all of this is happening to me I can blog more, and read all the good ActiveRain comment. Anyone else having any problems?

Do you ever hear anyone say anything about Alabama? Most people think that Alabama is so bad, and that there is no point in looking at it. But most people don't know that Alabama is hard to beat because of reasonable cost of living, friendly people who like making strangers welcome, moderate climate with hardly any snow and ice, with beautiful surroundings. Alabama has alot of recreational facilities, alot of entertainment going on somewhere every weekend.

Have you ever been to Unclaimed Baggage Center-Located in Scottsboro, AL? You will find lost and unclaimed luggage from all over the world-all for sale at a fraction of the original value. Items include cameras, clothing, jewelry, sporting equipment, luggage, games, cds, shoes, and much, much more. It has been on the David Letterman show, Oprah Winfrey show to name a few. I love going there because I find such good deals. I bought a cedar chest for $30 the other day, and a set of queen satin sheets for $35 that was brand new. On Tuesday's new items are put out in a bin, and you can go through them before they put the items on the shelf. So if you have lost your luggage on a plane you need to come to Unclaimed Baggage to find it, but of course you will have to buy it back. I have heard o...

If you want to pay over $300k for an existing home in Scottsboro, AL your choices will be limited, and many of those are reminiscent of those movie star mansions in Malibu. You can also spend almost $300k on an existing house in Section, AL but that's only if you want to be able to look out the living-room window and pretend your on an airplane. The view of the mountains, valleys, and river below will knock your socks off. It's also quite possible to live on the Section bluff for less than $200k, view and all.             The point is that the cost of living in Scottsboro and Jackson County, AL the cost of living is phenomenally low, and the living itself is easy. Many new subdivisions are under construction, and waterfront property is high in demand, so you would want to buy sooner tha...

On Saturday September 15,2007 there will be approximately 100,000 motorcycle riders to commemorate Native American Heritage and the Trail of Tears. The route is from Chattanooga, TN to Waterloo, AL.  They will stop in Madison, AL for lunch and then Waterloo will be the end of the ride where they will have American Indian Food, and plenty of motorcycle vendors. This can be a dangerous ride because of so many riders, and holding up traffic. I can remember for the last several years there has been many acccidents, and deaths. For more information on the Trail of Tears visit www.al-tn-trailoftears.net

I am still having problems with figuring out what to do with my website. I am not very computer savvy at all, and I paid someone to fix me a website. It is not getting me anywhere. I have talked with several different companies, and everyone tells me something different. I just need to know do I need to pay for my keywords or does it just take awhile for the web to crawl my site. I am tired of giving money out, and it not getting me what I want. Any helpful ideas would be greatly appreciated
