Then through out the year 2021 there will many other positive events that will follow. So I have some ideas to ponder that will help you to create a Happy New Year in 2021. 1. Stay away from Social Media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, etc. I am slowly closing my Facebook accounts in 2021. 3. Express love to all family & friends around you, help and give the...

When we think of Fall Colors most of us assume the different colored leaves, yellows, oranges, reds and browns. But in Alaska and other parts of the world there are so many other plants that change color during the Fall months.Take a close look at this photo from Hatcher Pass Alaska that I took. During the Spring and Summer months all you see is green. But in this photo there are a rainbow or colors and none of them from leaves. All of the mountain sides in Alaska are a rainbow of colors that are totally breath taking and a photographers paradise ...

Is this really Planet Earth? I have been to some very strange looking places in my life but this area took me by surprise.Several years ago one of my nephews named Donny that lives in Alaska brought us up to Hatcher Pass located approx 20 miles north of Wasilla. There is a old historical abandoned mine at Hatcher Pass along with Red Cabins for snow skiing and winter activities. When we first arrived at Hatcher Pass I was snapping photos of the Red Cabins and mountains. Then my Donny said let's go to another place you really have to see ...So we drove up a dirt road up the mountain that peaks out and then leads down to the main road going to Fairbanks. When we got to the top of the pass Donny said if you take these hiking trails up around 2 miles you will come to several small mountain po...

Sunrise over Lucille Lake Wasilla Alaska by Robert Swetz     I finally was able to break away from work on Labor Day weekend and visit my family in Alaska. The last time I was in Alaska was in 2016 so you might understand my excitement being there again.   I am wrapping up a job in Silicon Valley in NorCal so it's very difficult for me to break away. I spent some quality time in Homer with my wife and we looked at some real estate.   On my visit I took many photographs and the photo above was taken at sunrise Labor Day morning on Lucille Lake in Wassilla Alaska 40 miles north of Anchorage.   The clouds were racing across the sky over Lucille Lake so I was taking many photos of the clouds reflecting across the water, so stay tuned for more photos.            Posted by Robert "Vegas Bob...

Wednesday, December 7, 2016 Big changes for Vegas Bob coming in 2017     Big changes for Vegas Bob coming in 2017   With 2017 coming around the corner Robert Vegas Bob Swetz has some BIG changes up his sleeve.  Vegas Bob is really getting tired of working construction, his body and intelligence are being tested everyday. And Vegas Bob is also getting tired of the Real Estate Industry, and enjoyed purchasing Real Estate for investments more than being a licensed agent.   Robert Swetz heart is in traveling, taking photographs and videos so much more than construction and or selling Real Estate. So time will tell and as Vegas Bob gets older, he is ready for change and will keep everyone updated on his latest changes ;o)      The photograph at the top of the page was taken by Robert Swetz o...

Every time Robert Swetz visits Alaska he goes through a transition Robert Vegas Bob Swetz has been visiting Alaska off and on for 2 years now! Sometimes for 1 week, 2 weeks, 2-3-4 and even 5 months during this time. There seems to be something going on between myself and Alaska that I can't grasp. When I'm in Alaska it's so different than the Lower 48, more relaxed and something that creates some change within my mind. There is nothing wrong with this change, I like it and these types of thoughts really don't seem to cross my mind unless I visit Alaska.Last year I wanted to retire from construction because of the toll it has been taking on my body and I am no spring chicken. But with 40 years experience under my belt I am thinking I may go into a foreman position making more money and les...

Fishhook Creek north of Wasilla south of Hatcher Pass Alaska Fishhook Creek that runs north of the town of Wasilla Alaska is a very beautiful creek that cuts through the rock and canyon south of Hatcher Pass. Here is a colorful photograph of Fishook Creek just before sunset and believe it or not this creek can be panned for gold. Many creeks around the mountains can be panned for gold, I have not done it myself but maybe some day.We go to Hatcher Pass quite often when I am visiting Alaska, during the winters the mountains are covered with snow and during the spring, summer, fall months the area is very green with colors.Every time we drive up to Hatcher Pass we always stop here for a photograph. Photograph by Robert Swetz 8/29/2016

Vegas Bob comes across deadly lawn display for some! As Vegas Bob and his wife were driving around Wasilla Alaska they stumbled across the strangest lawn display ornament that I have ever seen!At first I missed the coffin laying on the lawn of someone's home as we were driving by. As I drove by my wife Lin said did you see that and I said what? She said there is a casket in the front yard of the home we just drove by, and at first I said ya right. So I had to see it for myself so I turned around and wanted to take a photo if it was true.My wife Lin asked me if people in America can keep a dead body in a casket of their homes and I said ... No! So she asked why would anyone have a casket in the front yard where they live? So I said to her I have no idea, I have never seen anything like ...

Robert Vegas Bob Swetz has a New name - Mr Positive For some reason since Vegas Bob spent 5 months in Alaska from November 2015 to May 2016, he is not the same person he was years ago. And Vegas Bob is wondering if it's where he's working now in California, the food he's eating, the people he has met or really what has changed Vegas Bob?When Vegas Bob came down to the Lower 48 in May of 2016 after spending 5 months in Alaska, family and friends around him were so negative. Vegas Bob tried staying away from them and or replacing their negative attitudes with his own positive attitude that he found in Alaska.Everywhere I go now, whether it's work, the store, etc all I hear is whining about politics, taxes, tragedies across the world, bad weather, etc. And do you know what Vegas Bob does w...
