What I learned From Alaskan Native Knowledge, Heritage and TraditionDuring our visit to Alaska, we also made sure to visit two key educational location, The Anchorage Museum and The Alaskan Native Heritage Center. Both offer unique learning experiences and amazing displays of authentic clothing, traditions, dance and more. The Anchorage Museum is connected to the Washington D.C. Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian, which is also exhibits an amazing collection. To start off, we learned at the Heritage Center, Alaskan Natives shared they do not refer to themselves as "Indian or " Native." That was the name the Russians projected onto them.
