What I learned From Alaskan Native Knowledge, Heritage and TraditionDuring our visit to Alaska, we also made sure to visit two key educational location, The Anchorage Museum and The Alaskan Native Heritage Center. Both offer unique learning experiences and amazing displays of authentic clothing, traditions, dance and more. The Anchorage Museum is connected to the Washington D.C. Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian, which is also exhibits an amazing collection. To start off, we learned at the Heritage Center, Alaskan Natives shared they do not refer to themselves as "Indian or " Native." Fun Fact About Alaska Anchorage Alaska enjoys a more modest amount of daylight in summer, a good 19 hours between sunrise and sunset on the longest day of the year, Summer Solstice. After enjoying a Kayaking adventure in Seaward, AK, we drove back to Anchorage; about a 3 hour drive. Looking at the clock it was about 1:00am, which is also known as Civil Twilight hours. This simply saying, it really never becomes fully dark to see the stars. You will have a hovering of horizon light. The month this photo was take in, is July.  07/28/2015

Exploring Alaska: Bike Riding Around Anchorage The flight to Alaska from Los Angeles was not bad at all. About 5 hours and we even arrived an hour early. Within 45 minutes after landing and checking into our hotel, we rented from Downtown  Bicycle  and explored a 20 mile plus bike ride all around Anchorage.  A quick tip, after 5:30pm you can receive a discounted price with your bike rental and have till 10pm to return the bike or hold onto it till the next morning.   More to come... 07/26/2015
