Airdrie Business Focus of the week - ChopStix   I had the opportunity to eat at a restaurant in Airdrie I had never tried before, it is called ChopStix.  ChopStix,  is a franchise that specializes in FRESH Gourmet Chinese food, with NO MSG, from 4 parts of China;  Cantonese, Shanghai, Szechuan, Beijing.   While I expected the normal steam table selections that have been out for many hours, and starting to look wilted and greasy, as is with many Chinese fast Food restaurants.  I was pleasantly surprised by the FRESH selection that was available, I had the ChopStix Bowl, I selected the Broccoli and Beef along with Fried Rice, it was amazing, from the texture of the Vegetables it was easy to tell things were fresh, the meat was tender and flavorful, along with my order the Manager knowing ...

I was out for lunch, and was discussing with a colleague a potential restaurant buyer. A brand new addition to Airdrie's Fast Food restaurant's has just opened, Mary Browns chicken & Taters at #119, 1800 Market Street, Airdrie, this is on the Corner of Yankee Valley Blvd and Kings Heights Blvd.  Being an efficianado of fast food and wanting to get my Airdrie Business Focus article ready, I wander in for lunch today and was met by a nice young lady with a big smile.  I ordered the 1 Piece Deal which consisted of 1 piece of Chicken, an ample supply of Taters (their name for seasoned potato wedges), Coleslaw ( I could have had Macaroni or Potato salad) and a can of Pop.  The order for just under $7.00 A very fair price and plenty of food for lunch. Right now for example our city of 43,000 people we have TOTAL LISTINGS of 363 (single family numbers are 283 and there are 80 condos for sale) Average Sale price in our community is $362,014.00 for a single family with 73 days on market average. * The total number of Recent sales for the last 30 days was 88 SOLD properties. A group I belong to AIRDRIE WOMEN IN BUSINESS, opened our hearts and our time to the RED CROSS this past weekend. We had our annual HOLIDAY MARKETPLACE, featuring home based and local buisness -  money was donated to the RED CROSS.   A represntative Elisa stopped by to have a chat and a photo with Santa.  Our doncation will be sent onto the RED CROSS in the next few days.   I'm always surprised at what sellers understand, or should I say decide not to hear when you explain a purchase contract to them.  I just negotiated a purchase contract between my sellers and some buyers, since my Sellers were in their late 70's I was extra careful to stop and reconfirm everything I said, it took a lot longer than normal, however, I felt it was required.  We managed to put the deal together and they got 98% of list price.  Conditions on the sale were financing and property inspection.  Possession day rolled around and all seemed well, my clients had a cleaning lady in and the place was spic and span.  Then  got a call from the Buyers realtor, he was concerned, and rightly so, an awning attached over the deck, to the outside of the house had been removed leaving holes ...
