Sometimes just one word, such as little, has so much impact on our lives. I was reminded this by this Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr. quote:"It is by little things that we know ourselves."The word little is in many words of wisdom from those who have gone before."True wisdom comes to each of us when we realize how little we understand about life, ourselves, and the world around us." Socrates"Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference." Sir Winston Churchill"Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking." Marcus Aurelius"You’re only given a little spark of madness. You mustn’t lose it." Robin Williams"Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could do only a little." Sir Edmund Burke"The best portion of a man’...

May 22nd marks the 15th anniversary of a deliciously legendary moment in cryptocurrency history — Bitcoin Pizza Day. It’s a quirky, unofficial holiday that commemorates the first-ever real-world transaction using bitcoin, and yes, it involved pizza.🍕 How a Few Slices Made Crypto HistoryBack in 2010, Laszlo Hanyecz, a programmer and early bitcoin adopter, offered 10,000 BTC to anyone who could get two Papa John’s pizzas delivered to his house. At the time, bitcoin was worth less than a penny per coin — so the trade equaled about $40.Today? That same 10,000 BTC would be worth over $1 billion.“I got pizza for contributing to an open-source project,” Hanyecz shared with Bitcoin Magazine. “Usually hobbies are a time sink and money sink — in this case, my hobby bought me dinner.”Despite the s...

Blogging seems trivial sometimes...and now blogging about one rainstorm? Really? One silly life-saving rain? Come on!!! Our pastures & ponds are thirsty!YES!  I believe it is incredibly important to share life as we live it.  How about you?We received about an inch and half of rain this week in my neck of the woods and it is absolutely life saving for our birds, wildlife, pastures, trees, farm fields, and in fact, our entire ecosystem!More moisture in 1 rainstorm event than the other 135+ days of the year put together! That is not good! And not normal for us. We had very little snow this winter, so the sub-soil moisture was already very dry...you know...that is the soil that the roots grow in for every living plant! We are having one of our driest springs on record....except about 80 mil...

Just one fly in my house is enough for me to declare war! I have yet to purchase a "Salt Gun" but I have a full arsenal of various fly swatters.Flies in our area generally are not a big deal until we have a stretch of hot dry weather. We have been in a long (several years) drought... until the past week. It looked as though the drought was going to continue being earlier in May we set three record high days in the upper 90's. Believe it or not we just set a record low high for the last day or two and we have received 5" of rain in the last week. The farmers are rejoicing but now most of us are looking for a little break. One other benefit to this rain, wood tics don't like it.This is my first post in several days due to a maddening work load. I intend to make up for it by posting two or...

Open houses on the Outer Banks can be a useful marketing tactic to boost your property's visibility, but they also come with notable drawbacks. On the plus side, they generate exposure by inviting a larger number of people to view your home at once. This can create a buzz and help potential buyers imagine themselves living in the space in a relaxed, low-pressure setting. Increased traffic might lead to more private showings later on, even if many of the visitors are merely curious at firstThat said, the effectiveness of open houses has shifted with the way buyers search for homes today. Most buyers kick off their home search online; only a small fraction find a property through an open house. Furthermore, open houses can attract "looky-loos"—people who are simply curious and not serious...

Real estate investing in Fort Myers is a little different than investing in a more urban market. There are a series of advantages to buying investment property in a resort market like Fort Myers, where the beach can be enjoyed when your investment property is tenant free. There are also many other advantages to investing in Southwest Florida, including tax advantages. The tax write-offs are a major reason to jump into investment real estate - not to mention appreciation in good time. Finding out how to invest in real estate can be the key. There are plenty of places to choose from in the Fort Myers area, from condos on the beach to a second home that can serve as a part-time rental property for vacationers. The big real estate news is that Southwest Florida has changed from a sellers' mark...

Closing on a home in Arizona is an exciting step—but it comes with a fair amount of paperwork. One of the most important documents you’ll review at the closing table is the HUD-1 Settlement Statement. This document breaks down all the costs associated with your real estate transaction, and understanding it can save you from surprises and confusion.Let me walk you through what the HUD-1 is, what it includes, and how to make sense of it—especially if you're buying or selling in the Phoenix metro area, East Valley, or anywhere in beautiful Arizona. What is a HUD-1 Settlement Statement? The HUD-1 Settlement Statement is a standardized form used in most real estate closings to itemize all final credits and charges for both the buyer and the seller. Think of it as the financial scoreboard that ...

Plus: How I Can Help You No Matter Where You Are in the ProcessBuying a home is one of the biggest decisions many people make—and the reasons behind it are as unique as each person and family. Still, some common motivations come up again and again. Here are the top 7 reasons people choose to buy a home—and how I’m here to help make the process smoother, smarter, and more personal.1. To Build Equity Instead of Paying Rent Every mortgage payment brings you closer to full ownership, unlike rent, which builds someone else’s wealth. Homeownership is a long-term investment in you.2. More Space and Privacy From growing families to work-from-home needs, space matters. Buying a home allows you to find the room that fits your lifestyle and gives you the privacy you crave.3. Closer to Friends and ...

(House to Home, Inc. - Denver Real Estate - 720-231-6373)
Today, a professional first-time couple received the keys to their new home, and my Seller was beaming!   He is happy they love their home, and starting their family here.   I wish the best for my Seller and on to his new chapter! Many cities across the Country are still experiencing a good market.   Denver has lagged in that category.   We have seen a 25% increase in listings, but no increase in pending sales.    We are not in a buyer's market, but it feels more balanced. This listing has been owned by my Seller for 45 years, and he has done some upgrades over the years, but there were still some most buyers really wanted.   There were quite a few showings, and some said that was their favorite, but I never heard from them again.Saturday, there was a 9 am showing, and at 10 am, the buyer...

You're undoubtedly unwilling to let that go if your mortgage rate is 3%. And this persistent question, "why would I give that up?" can be preventing you from moving, even if you've considered it.However, you can be unknowingly neglecting your wants and needs when you ask that question. Because of their mortgage rate, most people choose not to relocate. They relocate because they must or desire to do so. Let's ask this instead, flipping the script:In five years, how likely are you to still be living in your current home?  Take a time to reflect on your life. Imagine what the upcoming years will bring. Do you intend to expand your family? Are your grown children about to leave home? Will you soon be retiring? Are you already so overwhelmed?Staying put could make perfect sense if you enjoy...
