The laughter doesn't stop there, they share these puns on Instagram, drawing in admirers like our very own Kathy Streib, and Debe Maxwell, CRS, is also in on the fun. Journal Entry for 3/13/2026 My feature photo is a bluebird taken less than a mile from where I live in Flower Mound, Texas. It was the joy of the song that caught my attention. Bluebirds symbolize happiness and joy, inspiring many poets and authors to capture their essence in beautiful quotes. Charles Bukowski: "There's a bluebird in my heart that wants to get out." This metaphorexpresses the longing for freedom and the emotional expression, using the bluebird asa symbol of inner feelings.  The ActiveRain 2026 March Challenges announced two challenges. For more information about participating, here are the two links. Please include in your post which challenge your writing about and include both Hosts. Link your entries to the host's original post. Friday the 13th: Panic for Some, Lucky for Me Well… it’s Friday the 13th again. You know the day. The one where perfectly reasonable adults suddenly start acting like the universe is one black cat away from complete chaos.People will be: Avoiding ladders🪜. Side-eyeing every black cat 🐈‍⬛they see Refusing to make big decisions. Blaming anything remotely inconvenient on “Friday the 13th.” Coffee spills? Friday the 13th! Printer jams? Obviously Friday the 13th! Phone battery dies? Friday the 13th! Wi-Fi slows down? Definitely Friday the 13th!  Meanwhile… 13 has always been my lucky number🎲!So while some people are cautiously navigating the day like they’re in a horror movie, I’ll be going about my Friday like normal… possibly expecting a little extra luck🍀 thrown in for good measure. "Don't...

Larry and I recently helped a seller who inherited a house from a family member they loved. The place hadn’t been updated in years and was full of memories. It was cluttered, but you could still see the charm and what it could be.This sale was emotional for her. We knew that, so we took it slow and treated everything with respect. At our suggestion, she had help to clear out the clutter, we did some simple staging to show off what made the house special and marketed it in a way that told its real story. It worked. The right buyers showed up fast, and it sold for more than we thought it would. The best part? We made a tough situation easier for our client. She walked left feeling good, knowing the house went to someone who’d love it and that her family’s memories were respected. We’d be hap...

Looks like Beanbag Baseball is growing in The Villages, Florida.  I just counted 19 groups on the VCDD Residents Lifestyle Clubs website.  I have never played so decided to see what I could find out!Bean bag baseball is a popular, accessible, and competitive, low-impact, underhand throwing game for all ages, often played by seniors, featuring two teams trying to score runs by landing bean bags on a target board marked with singles, doubles, triples, home runs, and outs. It simulates a baseball game with innings, with no running required, using chairs to represent bases.Key Aspects of Bean Bag Baseball: Gameplay: Players typically toss three bean bags underhand from a set distance (approx. 21 feet from the back of the board) at a board marked with baseball outcomes. Rules: Similar to tra...

Bottom Line:  If it is offered as a residential rental property, it must be kept in good repair.  A tenant may terminate a lease if a landlord fails to make repairs that affect health and safety. It can become a blur. In Arizona there are four sets of different landlord and tenant statutes which may apply, depending on the type of rental property at issue. By Nick Marr, Promoting real estate internationally
(HOMESGOFAST)
The thrill of handing over the keys to a new homeowner is undeniable, but in the highly competitive real estate industry, an agent's success is rarely defined by a single closing. The transaction itself is just a brief moment in time. The most successful real estate professionals understand that long-term viability requires a fundamental shift in perspective: moving away from the singular deal and focusing entirely on the lifelong relationship. When the market is hot, it is easy to rely on a high volume of cold leads and rapid turnover. However, when the market inevitably cools or shifts, agents who have treated their buyers and sellers as one-off transactions quickly find their pipelines empty. Conversely, agents who have invested the time and energy into building a memorable personal b...

If ActiveRain Were a Movie. . .  The Academy Awards ceremony is this weekend, Sunday, March 15. The Oscars have been a topic that has held my interest for a long time. It has also entered the blogosphere of this community underscored by some memorable contests over the years.  My days of watching movies in theaters continues. Sharing posts of such things and other stuff has decreased for me even as wondering is ongoing. Many sorts of things evolve.      I am well-aware that any aspect of this event may not be on the radar for you. Like the spectacle of the awards celebration, I believe interrelatedness and interconnectedness of many things remain plot points in stories regardless of where one sits with most subjects.  Yes, we adapt and adjust. This familiar retort enters the scene in co...

It seems that people need a laugh – especially on Friday. So, we dig back in to classic comedy scenes from a much better age of television. Some clips I found from past TV comedy when TV comedy meant something far different from today. A more innocent time and a time of real quality. Hope you enjoy the clips. Due to the length, there is just 1 clip per week. Enjoy!

What is the correct listing price for a home? There are many strategies to selecting a price for a home, using numerous data points from ratio of sold price to tax assessment price, square foot price, collating numerous automated valuation prices and averaging them all out. Using comparative market data for similar homes, however some streets demand higher prices in some locales than others. Knowing your local market is imperative in these instances. Some agents believe that when the market is hot, with lots of demand, you cannot underprice a home as it will find the market price due to the competition. But is pricing low helpful? It really depends on how you look at it, from both a seller viewpoint and a buyers' viewpoint.Let's start with the seller. If they are interested in getting the...

Friday Flags: Welcome Back to Prospect CTWe enjoyed the escape for Connecticut to get some relief from the snow and the cold. We visited friends, and family; I got to play some golf, even shot my age on one of the courses in Hiton Head, and just relaxed. We had gotten a huge drop of snow just before we left and as well had to run to the post office on the way out, I got a shot of the flag at McGrath park here in ProspectThe flag was flying bravely as we left and seemed to be saying it wished us well.A I drove as today, I stopped to say hello, and it waved back to me.The wind wasn't blowing very hard, and it is a sheltered spot so I was glad to get what it gave me.It was also nice to see all the snow gone as well. Friday Flags: Welcome Back to Prospect CT

I had to have Timmothy explain his cartoon to me. Titus was walking along the tabletop and he was so focused on beating  Paraskavedekatriaphobia that he walked right off the top of the table. When I Think Of Bad Luck I think of one of my favorite comedians, Rodney Dangerfield. Here is a short clip.Other "rapid fire" off the cuff comedians who keep me in stiches are Jonathan Winters and Robin Williams. If Friday the 13th causes you fear you may want to add a little comedy to your day with one of the guys mentioned above. Have a wonderful day!"The only thing sure about luck is that it will change" Brett Harte

"Thousands have lived without love, not one without water.”— W. H. AudenDid you know…If all the salt dissolved in Earth’s oceans were removed and spread evenly across the Earth's land surface, it would create a layer about 500 feet deep. That is roughly the height of a 40-story building made entirely of salt. And yes, that estimate includes all of Earth’s oceans combined.Being the curious soul that I am, that fact immediately led to a whole litany of other questions.Since the oceans contain about 97% of all the water on Earth, why don’t we simply turn ocean water into drinking water? The answer is that we can (and do). The process is called desalination, which removes salt from seawater. The challenge is that desalination requires significant energy and infrastructure, making it an expens...
