Designing the perfect outdoor space isn’t just about planting pretty flowers—it's about creating a space that feels like an extension of your home. Smart flower beds and garden design can elevate curb appeal, improve property value, and give homeowners a peaceful retreat right in their backyard.1. Start with a Vision, Not Just a ShovelBefore breaking ground, think about the purpose of your garden. Is it a vibrant splash of seasonal color? A calm, meditative corner? A space for hosting guests? Let that guide the layout of your flower beds. Using curved edges instead of sharp angles can create a more natural, flowing look—especially in front yards where first impressions matter.2. Kenwood House and Kenwood Forest are just a half mile apart in a beautiful setting of green spaces and cherry trees.  The two communities both offer easy access to downtown Bethesda and northwest Washington with lots of restaurants, shops and transportation. The two communities are different in their architectural style and legal structure, making them appealing to different types of buyers. KENWOOD HOUSEThe Kenwood House is a mid century modern co-op building with large rooms and big windows.  The kitchens tend to be galley styled and separate from the dining and living areas – unless the co-ops have been remodeled, which some have been to create an open concept.   This building offers very good value because the all inclusive co-op fee (which includes taxes and insurance) discourages ...

Thankful Thursdays…Grateful For Your Time Since 2020, on Tuesdays afternoons at 1 PM C.S.T., I have had fun getting to know some of the ActiveRain members.  What began in early 2020 (I can’t remember when, can you Debe Maxwell, CRS ?) grew into our Weekly Zoom Calls.  ActiveRain member Marie Story  asked anyone interested to join her in a Zoom call. She lived in Southeast FL, in a condo, and needed human interaction. We had so much fun, we met again and again. To keep it going, we decided to add topics or speakers.                                                              ( From May 12, 2020)Here are a few of the topics/speakers we’ve had since 2020. Millbridge Home Prices And Sales Dip in Quarter 1-2025 As New Construction Ends In Quarter 1-2025, Millbridge home sale prices experienced a year-over-year decline, with the median sale price dropping 5% and the average sale price falling 6%. This decrease is partly due to a different price mix of homes sold compared with 2024, as well as the absence of new construction sales, which typically fetched premium prices. Despite the overall price drop, the average price per square foot rose 5% to $216 compared with Q1-2024. The list-to-sale price ratio dipped 3 percentage points to 98.3% from the same quarter one year ago, giving buyers slightly more room to negotiate. This change also reflects the end of new construction in the neighborhood, as builders typically do not negotiate on price. ...
