Going door to door with a heavy metal piece of pipe would most likely get you arrested around here Richard (richie) Alan Naggar . That being said I do believe in the product.

I have a grab bar in my shower from the previous owner... I wish it wasn't installed as it takes up valuable space in my 3x3 show stall. And it isn't being used like it used to get used, so I wish it was gone.

Richard,   You are so right that every person needs at least one! While you're at it, maybe they want to sell now or in the future.

And I thought I had the best idea for door knocking. Selling  small signs that read  "No Solicitation"

Door knocking works and I've been fortunate to do more than well with it, even though it was never my main thing and never a full time endeavor.

Your idea might be a winner with the right profit margin and an area with the right demographics, BUT, if you did what I've done, you'd surely have more in your pocket while keeping your regular day business.

Persuasion is in the equation for those sweetest dividends! 📈

If installed properly they can be a great value, if not installed correctly they can be a hazard.

Let me know how the door knocking goes, and make sure to find a good stud to mount them on rather than just drywall and anchors which will give way at the first hard pull.

There are a lot of gated communities and condo complexes here that strictly prohibit soliciting so the audience would be very limited. We also have some non profits that install grab bars at no charge and there is a reduced cost to the owners for the material.

FYI - At an aging in place seminar I attended several years ago, it was pointed out that many grab bars are improperly installed. Some are installed on an angle like this / which is not correct since if you grab it as you are falling, you will fall forward and hit the wall. The proper positioning is like this --- horizontal but it is surprising how many properties I have shown that are not correctly installed.

That's now how I would want to make a living and don't want them at my door.
