Richie, participants in the Rain need to realize far more people read than engage.  Just because someone doesn't directly respond or message, doesn't mean statements aren't witnessed and filed away in the memory storage banks.  Long term consequences can happen from not exercising appropriate keyboard restraint.

We are born with two ears and one mouth for more than one reason. It is important to listen and understand rather than blabber and show our lack of understanding.

Well, since you say this is just for fun...  I know more than a few people whose idea of a conversation is not listening and then speaking, it is talking and then waiting to talk, no listening involved.

I guess you could say those people may have foot fetish.

Seek first to understand, then to be understood. I am a work in progress but sometimes lack of patience gets in the way.

LOL good one Richie!  Some folks do have a tendency to continually eat foot food over and over and over for years.  I say walk away - move those feet out of your mouth, and walk baby walk!  Breathe in - Breathe out.  No  more words coming from your feet 🍌

Edible socks definitely raise a few eyebrows! While they’re all in good fun, they serve as a perfect metaphor. Your words can inadvertently lead to misunderstandings in both your personal and professional life. 

Listening carefully and asking the right questions can save you from those awkward “foot in mouth” moments. Patience goes a long way in conversations, allowing you to truly connect with others.

keyboard restraint  new term to the rain or atleast to me.  But I do understand.  and I do try to listen more than I speak.  If I speak I try to speak with authority, meaning from a place of knowledge.  I listen good too so I am switching to that mode now.  :)
