So many people have moved to my area that the people who live here are not happy to get new residents. Prices went way up since 2019, much was due to people moving into the area and making cash purchases that people who were already here couldn't afford. Because of the negative reaction to any suggestion that people move to my area, I wouldn't use that phrase or message in any marketing. It would annoy all the people that already live here and might want to sell or buy.

Like Michael Elliott, not familiar with the phrase! Not sure I include a lot of area information until there is some contact. As for the listing itself, I do the best I can to make it a must see one-off.

I don't think I ever use "from away" and not sure what it even means, haha. The 300+ days of sunshine in my area speaks for itself in attracting people to the East Valley.

We live in a very diverse community. Residents in our zip code are from over 120 countries. Real estate offices need to have agents fluent in several languages.

"From away"? Do you mean moving to your area from far away? I am not familiar with that specific expression. Do you mean foreigners who don't use the language quite properly?

My community does not want more construction here. But, if I am hired to list, I list away and promote the area.

I hope your marketing is less convoluted than that question 😂, but after having it decoded all I can share is:
We're America's Finest City; enough said.

Locals can be resistant to new migrants, yet the beauty of Wisconsin keeps attracting new folks seeking a better life.

I felt welcome when I moved here, it was like everyone treated me like they had known me forever from day one. That's just how folks are in the south.

Jobs and weather entice people to move here. There's a lot on social media enticing people to move here. Then there are those who post on social media to not move here. Everyone wants to move here then not allow anyone else to move here.
Anyhow, there's a lot to love about NC so I just post things about the area. Different things entice different people. Oh, and YPs and families are moving here for jobs and their parents and grandparents are moving to follow the kids.

I've never heard the phrase "from away". I'm guessing from the context in the answers it means "You're not from around here."
My marketing is about the house. I have some other content about the city/county/etc. on parts of my site, but if people are looking at the house they are typically familiar with the area already. If there are key features, like a horse-friendly neighborhood, or walking distance to parks, etc., I put that down as it does pertain to the house. No one wants to hear about the CA weather or the history of the city in a marketing piece on a home.
Cities/towns/regions are researched first, homes second. Same with vacations. Regions first, attractions second, where to stay and eat third.

Every community has plus or minus subjective of course to some extent. Marketing the "plus" & disclosing the "minus" gives a clear view of the offering. It's like that first step that we take, start out on the right foot

Interesting concept but like my colleagues, Wayne Martin and Michael Jacobs , have no experience with that phrase.
