My friend, decades ago, I learned to pace and schedule meals so that I remain satisfied & nourished. I eat a breakfast after a 3-5 hike around 11-12 p.m. Then, My final meal at around 2-3 p.m. Sometimes I add an apple around 4 p.m. or seasonal fruits. In regard to your decent comment, snacking and eating more than once or twice sounds good to me too

Not in my house, Bob "RealMan" Timm

However, in more traditional days for me, it certainly did.

Enjoy your brunch, bountiful dinner, and snacks for the rest of the day.

Happy Thanksgiving!

It did, my turkey was ready early, so had a breakfast bar in the morning, and a big meal at 1:30, a slice of pie at 6 pm.

Heck! My eating schedule changes daily! With the pickiness of everyone in my house, it is a struggle to get a meal on the table.

The food schedule is a little different on Thanksgiving but not too much. We wound up eating dinner around 4:30 instead of 6 so that was different. But otherwise it was fairly normal.

Not for us although it did when we used to have my parents over for dinner on the holidays. Since they both passed, it is just the two of us and we have dinner at the usual time, sooner if the football games are not good.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

It depends on the holiday. We ate out for Thanksgiving Dinner yesterday at 1:00 pm and came home about 3:30pm. I did not eat in the morning, nor did we eat after we came home.

Because of the grandkids we ate early for us, at 3:00 and while for the first time I can remember I did not eat too much. Enough so I was full for the rest of the day, yet not too much. Call it a miracle!

The RIGHT CHARLOTTE REALTOR!

Ray and I have been eating healthier lately but, we give ourselves 3 days a year that we eat whatever we want - Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter! I will say that I have even been making 'healthy' mac & cheese, cooking salmon on a couple of those holidays and generally trying not to eat when I realize I've had enough.

So, to answer your question - YES! We enjoy breaking bread with family and friends on the holidays and I don't believe that will ever change! It's okay to enjoy foods that aren't totally healthy - just in moderation, right?!

I agree Debe Maxwell, CRS that it is OK to splurge on those holidays and I also agree that it is better to eat healthier as we age. My biggest weakness is bread closly followed by sugar.
