Well, technically I make them daily, I call out of state numbers of locals on a daily basis, but all from my mobile phone so they are not charged as long distance of course. I seldom use a landline...

I hope you make sure your landline account includes long-distance calls or you may get a statement that charges you for it. 

Years ago, some "guru" that actually does not know squat, provided a dial-in number for a training call. It NEVER occurred to me that someone in the US would provide numbers out of the US.  My bill was over $300 for that one call. 

I now have long-distance coverage.  I use my landline more than my cell phone. Better sound quality while working in my office.

Define long distance.  It used to be long distance was to the next city over (which is a different county and area code).  I've routinely taken calls from overseas and placed some to Europe when I was planning a vacation out there.  I've had calls from a Saudi Shiek about renting one of my vacation rentals and I've had to call him too.

A lot of your calls "feel" long distance due to the 10 digits but the buyer or seller is local. Just never changed their number from five moves ago zig zagging the country, globe trotting the World.

I moved into my apartment 17 1/2 years ago and hadn't had a landline for many years prior to that. The former category of long distance calls- has been lost to me- but most international clients want to use Whatsapp.
