I did not. It was not my plan to stay awake as I knew the fireworks (bombs/explosions) would wake me.

God Bless my bride Ailina Nelson , somehow she kept me up to ring in 2023! I fell asleep 2-3 times between 9-11:59PM but she really wanted us to kiss 😘 at 12:00AM so we did! That is a first in many years for us/me. Usually we're either both asleep or she's watching the Ball-Drop to the soundtrack of my snoring 😂!

Joan I did, as I was watching the fourth quarter of the Ohio State vs Georgia football game,  and the New Year rang in as Georgia won a nail biter on a missed Ohio State field goal with three seconds in the game.   I then worked on our taxes until 4:30 A.M.

Joan Cox - Yes. I was up. My out-of-state granddaughter called me to tell me she was watching how Dallas rang in the New Year. I turned on my T.V. and she was right! We stayed on the phone watching the fireworks and it was spectacular. The funny thing is, there was a delay on her seeing what I was seeing. No celebrities or people or entertainment. Just fireworks and beautiful animation! After it was over, we talked for about an hour. BEST CONVERSATION IN ALL OF 2023!!!

Went out into the ocean off Waikiki on family boat to watch the Midnight fireworks that were set off on a barge.  We were about 700 ft. away.  What a show.  The ocean was flat and reflections awesome. Then watching all the illegal fireworks all over Oahu from out there. A few other boats were out there too, a friendly bunch.  Wouldn't have missed it for anything.

We were watching the UGA vs. Ohio State game at midnight and we celebrated the UGA win with champagne right at midnight.  The missed kick hit the turf at 11:59:58 so two seconds before the stroke of midnight.  My neighborhood... #dawgnation went wild.

Went to sleep at 11:30 PST but tried to watch the Ball Drop at 9PM but for some reason, probably financially, it wasn't shown. We had to get up early to go to Sofi Stadium to see our Los Angeles Rams destroy the awful L. A. Rams.
