I am NOT ready for Fall Will Hamm but it is here BIG time. Last night we had freeze warning all around the State and here in Minot ND I believe it got down to 36 degrees. Also, YES the trees are changing color and a few are dropping leaves as well.

LOTS of leaves on the ground after a recent wind storm over the last few days. One off our neighbors had a pop-up structure in the back yard blow over the fence into the adjacent property. Not exactly a falling leaf!

I haven't seen fall foliage in person since moving from New England to Florida 20 something years ago.  I spent several years in Western Massachusetts and it was beautiful in the fall.

The Fall is great in the East Valley, the weather is always so nice!  It doesn't get cold enough for the leaves to change color much in my area, but a short drive up north and we see plenty of Fall colors.

The tips of a few trees have starting turning colors, and a few other trees look just a bit paler green. And there are some shrubs at higher elevations that have turned red. So yes, Fall is coming!

I love the fall with its cooler temperatures and beautiful changes in color.  In Goodyear, there is little evidence of fall.  In Elk Grove, leaves are just barely beginning to turn colors.

   Here in the Blue Ridge Mountains, the best "color years" come when there are sunny days followed by a sudden drop in overnight temperature. 

   This week the lows will be 50 degrees, so probably nothing yet. But if it quickly drops into the 30's, the chlorophyll production stops (the "green"), then the red, yellow, and orange colors come blazing through.

   We back up to thousands of acres of state forest, almost entirely hardwood trees (the hemlocks all died out from the blight), so we are hoping for a spectacular color show!

Will Hamm I was going to say NO but it seems like overnight some of the leaves have changed. I was driving to the office today and was quite amazed at how many leaves were changing colors it seems like Mother nature just turned on a switch

meteorological autumn has arrived in the Chicago area, and with that a serious drop in temperatures... (we went from the high 80's on Monday, into the low 50's today)... but the leaves haven't begun to drop or change colour en masse.  We do see some 'yellowing', but we're only a few days out of hot weather, thus far.

Am I ready for it?? Heck no.
